The Fraley and Parry picks are 2008, not this year.  This year we only have our regular picks, minus whatever is given up to New Orleans for Stallworth...

One of the top safeties will. But it won't be Landry, no way. My guess is Merriweather, who looked real good at the Senior Bowl, or Griffin, who looked great too. I think it'll come to combine work outs.

I'd take Griffin everytime. Dude's a playmaker.

I would be happy with Merriweather, he is one of those guys that was easy to forget about since he played on a bad Miami team this season.  Every game I saw them play though the guy was making plays.  Either way the Eagles should be able to end up with a pretty good safety in this draft.

I'm partial to Griffin, but would gladly take Meriweather if he was availble.

I like Griffin more too, especially with the recent success of Texas DBs in the NFL.  If they don't go safety in the first round, I would like to see them go with Weddle(sp?) or Rouse in the second.  I know IGY would have a fit if they took Weddle, because he is white and played at Utah. But the only time I saw him play the dude was a baller.

I was listening to NFL radio this week and they were talking about the reverse racism that goes on with white DBs and RBs in the NFL and college.  They were saying that a lot of these guys can play but are never given a real opportunity much like black QBs of the past.

the nfl would start a transvestite nepalese man if he has the talent...bottom line is if you can play they will find you

look at gocong mccoy and considine on the eagles alone...they are being given a chance and they suck...so you know talented whites are gonna get looked at

as for rb thats a joke...there are tons of black running backs and cornerbacks that dont get a look because they are too slow...so what do you think is going to happen to whitey at that position

i should also add that for the racism to exist would be to imply that the people in the positions of picking these players in the nfl are be black...and the opposite is true...

You might be right, I don't know enough to say that I agree or disagree with the point or not.  But I will say this, if Brian Leonard were black don't you think he would be a first round lock?

He is not just a FB, he is the kind of player that will definately be more of a RB in the NFL.

then thats why he isnt going in the first round...the kid cannot play half back in the nfl...if you think hes too small for a fullback and some people do...then id play him like an h back ala chris cooley before id play him at hb

thats the problem with him he doesnt have a real position...he still is gonna go anywhere from middle second to even possibly late first if he has a great spring...and thats not bad for a positionless player...in fact its a credit to his versatility that hes gonna go that high...but you cant expect a player like that to go first round

I know they are defensive players but Kearse and Urlacher were in similar situations and that turned out pretty good.

Leonard has great receiving skills which will help him become useful in the NFL.  I dont see him as a halfback but more of a WCO FB who could be decent if he can block.   I cant see him going in the first round white or black.

both are athletic freaks of nature.

It was just something that I thought was an interesting topic because you always hear the "other side" but there is never much mention of the other way.  Also Solomon Wilcotts agreed with the point which I found interesting as well.
