It just struck me that every person in this thread who's been saying that this incident wasn't the fault of the Reid's parenting is a parent themselves.

Covering your asses for the day your kids turn into shteinheads?

It also struck me long ago that the ones vigorously hailing this case as proof of Andy Reid's poor parenting skills, have as much experience parenting, as I do banging asian triplets.

No one's saying it's not his fault, just that what happened isn't proof that he is/was a bad parent.

You can be the most loving, supportive, and involved parent in the world and your child can still turn out to be a complete piece of shtein.

Conversely, a child can come from a broken home with abusive, hateful or absentee parents and can turn out great.

It's all up to the child, rjs.  But if you want to blame Andy Reid or any other parent for the actions of their children, then go right ahead.

It's ludicrous to expect children to make their own proper decisions in life?

Jesus farg man, that's ludicrous.

About as ludicrous as claiming that the only influence on an adult child's behavior is their parenting.

Can't we just agree that none of us know in this case?

as a parent, you hope that you have instilled an ethic in your kids that would keep them from making bad decisions.

when they make bad decisions, the responsibility must be placed on the kid first, with the parent sharing some of that blame
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Let's call it even by putting all of the blame on Tammy. Presumably she's the one around these guys all day anyway.

:sly  That was the most sensible thing I've ever seen sun post

My oldest is 16, and I can venture an edjumukated guess that he's not going to end up like that Reid kid. But then again, he's had to pull my foot outta' his ass a few times before. Nobodys perfect.

Love and support are only part of the equation. That's my point. Rules and consequences are also part of the equation. An important part.

I am certainly not saying that I know HOW to parent someone, I'm just saying that when people act like this it doesn't just come out of the clear blue sky.

It's superbowl sunday. All of you dads out there should stop taking my judgement of Andy Reid as an afront to all parents and get drunk.

I already had three jager/red bull shots.  Plus I popped a Vicodin this morning because my farging back was killing me.

Exercising over the age of 40 has got to be one of the dumbest things ever conceived of by homo sapiens.  Just get old and fat and be happy you made it through your 20's already.

I'm getting ready to heat up the oil and start deep frying! A Turkey, Chicken Strips, and Fish are on the menu, but once you get going you want to deep fry everything in the fridge!
