I saw Rocky Balboa in a theater last week.  It was what I thought it would be-- solid, if unspectacular.  I enjoyed it, but I thought Paulie's acting was a little rough for most of the movie.  Glad I saw it, though.  It was probably the best one since the second release.

Scoop  :cfhead :cfhead  Im a big Woody Allen fan, unlike everyone else on this board... but this one was average at best.

Purgatory House: 0 Eagle heads.  A movie that made it to dvd written by a 14 year old girl.  I figured maybe she was a Doogie Houser genius.  Instead I watched a horrible home made looking pile of crap for a half hour before I coudnt take anymore.

I saw it the other day. Didn't like it.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

You're

But the movie while well acted was pretty boring and the after it was over I felt like nothing really happened. I didn't think the movie knew where it wanted to go and didn't have much substance.

"Employee of the Month"
This movie is so forgettable that I started to type a review after we watched it on Friday, and I just didn't care enough to post it.  It's formulaic and un-original in every way, and Dane Cook is a leading man like Matt McCoy's a Pro Bowler.

1.5/5 for cleavage shots of Jessica Simpson and for gratuitous midget casting

"Now You Know"
Saw a preview for this on the Clerks II DVD.  It's a "romantic" comedy written and directed by the guy who plays Randal in the Clerks movies (Jeff Anderson).  All in all, there was some half-OK character development and the movie was a lot more benign than I would have thought.  It was more "Jersey Girl" than "Clerks", however... I wouldn't go out of your way to watch it, but it does provide a few laughs here and there.

3/5.

ice grillin you

the 15 minute steady cam shot in children of men might be better than any whole movie that comes out this year...phenominal i never seen anything like it

steady cam scene 12/10
children of men 8.5/10

watched the illusionist on friday...failry boring movie with a very predictable ending...i love edward norton so much tho (no homo)...hes one of the best two or three actors in the game and i can reccommend the movie on him alone

6.5/10

I didn't care for Jullianne Moore or Michael Caine, but the rest of Children of Men was phenominal. Pan's Labrynth and The Illusionist are up next.

why a theatre?  Im just wondering because most people only say that when the special effects are so awesome that the big screen and sound make it a theatre "must see."

I'll give the Illusionist more of a 7.5, but I'll echo your statements on Edward Norton--has been my favorite actor for years now.  Very underappreciated.

Ed Norton is my fav actor right now and has been for a while. Probably since American History X.

Finally saw Snakes On A Plane. F'n loved it. Then again, I'd rent Sam Jackson reading the friggin' phonebook. 3.5/5

Also, saw Gridiron Gang a few days ago. Probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. And I loved how they showed the actual film footage from the real Camp Kilpatrick, during the credits, that dialogue and scenes were taken from. 4/5- Would get an extra half if they had kept some of the deleted scenes that fleshed out some of the characters better.
Maybe the voices aren't real, but, they've got some pretty good ideas...
