I would be very happy if they landed Michael Griffin in the first round.  Of course I would rather have Landry, but Griffin would be a nice pick too.

I'd be happy with it too. My #1 target is Patrick Willis, but chances are Griffin wil be the best available defensive player at #26.

A serviceable pitcher makes no less than $5m/year.  A star WR makes no more than $6m-$7m.

You obviously haven't watched too much of him over the last two years.  I am not saying he would be a good pro WR, because they are pretty much impossible to project.  However, he was a stud on the college gridiron.
