Eagles vs. Saints Game Thread

Wrong.  The D had to step up to win the game.  They didn't and the Eagles lost.  The only way the Eagles COULD win the game is if the D played their A game.  They didn't.

this defense doesnt have an A game against a offense as good as the saints...in fact not many teams in the nfc have a defense that can stop the saints...so again if you wanted the d to step up and win this game you were fooling yourself and looking for something that wasnt there

if the eagles score a td on the brutal 3rd and 1 call
they get a tying fg on their last drive
or westbrook is properly used thruout the game and the saints have to come back late to win and THEN the defense folds and gives up a game winning score im killing them right now

but that didnt happen...they played the same way theyve basically played all year...they did what was expected and had the team in the game

if you wanna say the defense was subpar this year and has to be improved then i wholeheartedly agree...but the defense did not lose that game...nor did the offense...

I agree with IGY in that the frustrating part is that they were in a position to win against a superior team and couldn't do it because their coach is an idiot. But the defense didn't play well and outside of two big plays the offense didn't play well either. A better coach wins that game. A better team wins that game. The Eagles were neither.

looking back on the season as a whole this isnt as bad as 2004  but the new orleans game by itself is maybe the worst loss ive ever suffered....because they so easily could have/should have won...carolina had a higher frustration factor but at the end of the day they were worked all night long in that game...you never really felt as if they could win it...same with tampa

averaged 26 pts a game this year


what did you expect the defense to do exactly?...they played exactly like i knew they would...better in fact...i fully expected the saints to get more than 30 in this game

they got dominated in that game...i got over that relatively quick...people like to build up the last game at the vet thing but other than that the loss itself doesnt come close to the superbowl or saturday

I understand that you are upset about losing, but all I hear on WIP is how much of an idiot AR is for fourth and 15. THAT IS ALL I HEAR and I told them to get over it. Sure, I was upset.
