It's not as simple as that. For one thing, everyone's metabolism is different. When I was in the Air Force and in Florida for tech school, I had been in the hospital for 8 weeks and I had gone from 165 to about 120 (I had my jaw broken and reset). I started eating and pretty soon, I put on the weight I lost and more...one of my roommates could go to dinner and have a full plate of carbohydrates and two desserts, and the guy never put on weight. He was just as skinny the day he graduated 6 months later as when he got there. He never exercised.

Years later while stationed in Japan, I got tired of looking like I did, I weighed 225--my squadron commander was going to put me on the weight reduction program. But I decided to do it myself--in 1 months' time--starting oddly enough on Thanksgiving Day, I went from 225 to 159--I lived on nothing but a steady diet of wheat toast and grapefruit juice for breakfast, a salad with no dressing for lunch, and tuna for dinner. I replaced eating candy bars with these diet bars--sometimes that's all I would have for lunch instead of a salad--after I got off a midnight shift at 7am, I'd run 2 miles (I worked up to that), go to the base gym and lift weights , and sit in the sauna for 45 minutes. When I worked other shifts, I amended my schedule accordingly.  One day a week, I'd eat some kind of meat--steak, roast beef, whatever the chow hall was serving.  By the time I left in April and reported to my new assignment in May, I weighed 135. My Dad came to see me at my new base and thought I was dying of Aids--I was so skinny, and he wasn't used to seeing my like that. But it took tremendous, and I mean tremendous discipline. I kept that regimen up for 7 years, until I came to England in 1990.

The thing is, it's very difficult, and if you've never been in that position before--it's like a longtime smoker trying to kick the habit--very difficult.

He's an offensive lineman, do you think he gets the job weighing even 300? No. There's so much pressure on these kids to be at there specific weight, especially the o-lineman. None of those guys are naturally that weight, they have to gain it by eating tons and lifting.  I can't bash the dude for losing focus, guy got injured the year he became a millionaire. I'm just glad he got his shtein together and is doing what he is doing for us today.

You got that right man. I was one of those kids who when I was young, could eat anything and stay as skinny as a real. My Friends and I would go to "The Old Country Buffet" and eat until we could barely walk out the door. It was like that for years, I'd eat like a hog and never gain weight. Then, I turned 30, and my metabolism change in those years. By the time I was 40, I was 255, which is about 40-45 lbs. over weight for me. I had never dieted in my life. It was the absolute hardest thing I've ever done. I liked eating too damn much. Still do.

Some one like Andrews who has all that weight and has eaten like that all his life, then loses so much weight, a small child in 4 months, I give him a lot of credit. Plus, it's even better being he's an Eagle and a pro-bowl offensive lineman.
