well because they give you approx 48 hrs to get your money in at a time when it was a super long shot for them to even have a home playoff and on top of that its during x-mas time when money is at a premium for a lot of people

if you 'own' the seats as they promoted when they intially sold the licenses then you should have the right to not purchase playoff tickets...no matter what your reason

If it's in the SBL agreement, then everyone that purchased one knew the deal before they agreed to it (or SHOULD have, anyway).

If they didn't like the agreement or couldn't afford to abide by it, they shouldn't have purchased the tickets.

doesnt matter if it was in there or not...its a bullshtein move...your decision on whether you wanna buy seasons tickets for the rest of your life and fund the stadium for lurie shouldnt be determined by playoff games that may never happen

and dont promote the licenses as something you will "own" when in reality you dont...its false advertising at best and downright scandelous at worst

you pay thousands of dollars to just get the seats...then on top of that thousands more to go to the games and after all that you lose your seats because you cant/dont want to buy tickets to a game that might never happen

Not to defend the Eagles obvious grip of the fans balls, but if one cannot afford playoff tickets but must purchase them to keep season tickets, then why not just sell them? you'd actually make a profit.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

because you have to have the money up front to pay for them...unless you put them on a credit card...but not everyone can or wants to do that...and then theres the case of what if the game isnt played...even up to this minute theres no guarantee the eagles have a home playoff game forget the fact that when the team wanted this money they had a miniscule chance to get a home playoff game yet they wanted money for an nfc championship ticket

Sorry, igy, but if the agreement was made in the beginning, the onus is on the ticket holder.  You don't have to like the arrangement, but to call is "scandalous" is a gross overstatement when it was in writing from the beginning.  Every customer should have known what they were getting into.

That's why I don't have a problem with it, Geo.  I read the agreement and understood it completely.  My understanding the conditions of the agreement and accepting them doesn't mean the conditions are just, though.  It just means I wanted the tickets, so I paid the price and accepted whatever the Eagles were demanding of me to retain them.

In short, I'm the Eagles' bitch and so are 28,999 other people.

:D

Well, they are called stadium builder LICENSES. That should be a tip-off that it confers no real ownership interest in the holder. A license by definition just grants permission for use or certification to partake in a particular endeavor.

Season tickets are nice to have. But if they become so burdensome that you just bitch and moan about having to fork out the funds to pay for them maybe they aren't worth having after all.

I'm one of the 28,999 others, and this was one of the sticking points at the time we were deciding whether or not to go SBL...we did, knowing of this requirement of the license.

But, the Eagles and the NFL have been pretty good at waiting until the very last possible minute to force us to pay for playoff tickets. Also, in a rare instance where I can give the FO an "atta guy", this year they added a check-box to the online payment form, that if you checked it while paying with a credit card, they will credit your card back with the amount of any unused games. This was new, as in the past they've always just credited any unused tickets to next season's payments and sat on the funds/interest.

Of course, it remains to be seen if they'll also credit back the $10 "convenience fee" if the Eagles don't get a home playoff game. I'm going to guess...NO. Hopefully, we won't find that out this year.

Couple of questions for all you rich folks that have season tickets:

1.  How much does a season worth of tickets cost?

2.  How much are the playoff tickets?

Being that I don't live near Philly and have never even thought about season tickets because of that, I have no idea what kind of money we're talking about.

Rome

$1,300 for season, $430 for playoffs for me in section 110.

the refund option this year was an excellent addition

Our Zone B SBL tickets (lower level behind the Eagles bench on the goal line) were $800 per seat last season, including the preseason games.

These were $260 per seat for two games, if they play two games. The first game is worth less than the Championship game would be worth, but I forget how they broke that out (like $120/140, or something like that). The new option is that whatever games they don't play, they'll credit the value of those tickets back to the credit card used to pay for it.

The SBL for each seat was roughly $2,400 per seat, for a 30 year license. One of the guys I sit with recently looked into market value for our SBLs, and they are approximately $7,500 per seat if sold as a pair.
