I thought for it's importance, it was a disgracefully officiated game

1. How many times did they let Burress push off on Sheppard or Brown? Not only that, but that PI call, Burress grabbed Brown by the back of the jersey pulling him back which is why Brown had the arm bar on him--it was made more disgraceful after Aikman, whom I respect as a broadcaster, said" you just can't do that to a reciever"--he must not have seen the handful of white jersey Plaxico had.

2. How in the hell can a referee, standing no more than 2 yards away, not call roughing the passer on Gibril Wilson, after Wilson took an extra three steps before launching himself at Garcia after the ball was thrown--then

3. Have another official throw a flag for taunting when Wilson again went for Garcia's head on the hook slide for the first down?

4. Or how about the phantom defensive holding call on the 3rd down, I think on the Giants' FG drive right before the half? They showed a replay, but I didn't see Hood hold Tyree as he came off the line.

I agree with both bobby and IGY.

At least it didn't cost the Eagles a win.  Let's move on.

Basically, they should play well enough every week to take bad officiating out of play.

Agreed--I was yelling and shouting the whole time--the bad thing was it was near midnight over here and my vocal support was waking up my wife and daughter.

can anyone honestly say they've seen a game this year where the officials did a good job?  i can't think of one, there may have been one, but i don't remember it.

No.  Officials are EXPECTED to officiate fairly, so those games aren't memorable in that regard.

It was bad. But IGY is right...no need to ES it up here.

The one penalty that really pissed me off was the PI on Sheldon. Not for the lousy arm bar crap but because that goddamn ball was farging uncatchable. It almost hit a photographer on the sideline.

It would have but it was out of his reach too.

Out of curiosity.  Why didn't McQuarters (I think?) get an unsportsmanlike conduct call after Reggie toasted him for a TD.  He kicked that pylon and it hit some camera dude in the face.  :-D

Eaglez

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. If anything it would have just been enforced on the kickoff, and if I remember correctly the Giants returned it out to the 25. So, assuming that Akers would have booted it out of the endzone, we would have netted 5 yards.

One thing I didn't understand.  Westbrook got a 15 yard penalty for a chop block during the play where Garcia fumbled.  the Giants got the ball and then the penalty was tacked onto spot of the turnover.

since it wasn't a dead ball foul, shouldn't the Giants have either taken the ball or accepted the penalty, thus replaying the down?

I was wondering the same thing. I didn't think you got the ball AND the penalty yardage--either one or the other.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Westbrook also got called for offensive pass interference on that first 2-point try, even though he didn't make contact until after Reggie Brown caught the ball.

Etc etc - the Eagles were getting housed by the refs.  I'm over it.

SunMo

im not even saying they got screwed on the turnover + penalty thing.  i am just curious if that was the correct call or not.
