FWIW Bill Clement was saying Calder back to Chicago for Jim Vandemeer(traded from the flyers to chicago for Zhamnov 3 years ago)  is almost a done deal.  I'd do it in a heartbeat.

OMG! did Kyle Calder actually get a goal???   maybe now we can move him.  I'd undo that Zues trade in a heartbeat...even with him on the IR.

The Flyers traded Freddy Meyer IV to the Islanders today for Alexi Zhitnik who's 35 and earning 3.5 mill per year for 2 more years.  Holmgren got raped from the contract standpoint.  I dont get why they make this trade when its not like Zhitnik is going to right the team and get you a cup.  Hopefully they can trade his ass later on.

As much as I truly had hope for Freddy, he just wasn't getting better fast enough (not that anyone on the Flyers is).  ..and much like the Flyers FO, they just don't sit and wait on players.  they musta been getting bored lately, so they made a trade for an experienced D-man (since Rathje's gone).  I guess Leetch wasn't a cheap short-term option.

Zhitnik would have been a great addition if we were playoff contenders, since we're not I would have rather we held onto a young guy like Myers.

i was more pissed about possibly losing a 3rd rounder and taking on that salary.  That said Zhitnik looks really good tonight
