QuoteWe took on the name taterskins in part to honor one of our early coaches who was part Sioux

This true?

It's a long standing rumor but I don't think there's ever been any actual proof.  In fact, I think there is documented proof that the coach in question did not have Sioux (or any Native American) ancestry at all.

I read that thread the other night, they start out patting each other on the back about how 'taterskins' is to signify respect and honor than get bitchslapped by this guy with the cold hearted truth:

QuoteI'm sorry my friend your word origin is TOTALLY wrong. Until the DallasCowboys came into existance, the taterskins were the only team to play in the American south. Hence, the theme song Hail to the taterskins implored "fighting for old Dixie", referenced scalping, alleged that all Native Americans are drug-addicted failures, and encouraged a policy of manifest destiny by donating smallpox-infected blankets.

And as far as racist? George Preston Marshall(who was racist as hell) didn't even want the team to segregate. Under owner George Preston Marshall, the taterskins were the last team in the NFL to integrate and allow black players. Marshall pressured other owners to segregate the league in 1934. Despite the color barrier being broken in 1946, the taterskins held out until 1962 when their lease at RFK Stadium was threatened. Racial tensions remained high, as All-American RB Ernie Davis refused to play for the team. Integration was not fully achieved until the taterskins received some old-fashioned Nubian beatdowns at the hands of the Cleveland Browns.

So according to Native Americans, the name is offensive as hell. Thats like naming them the "Washington Porch Monkeys" because the city is predominately black.

What makes this thread even better is that 3/4 of them claim they are or know someone who is 'Native American' and how they don't take offense to the name.

taterskins fans run over at FedEx

1. Guy and his father in law were supposedly beaten by Eagles fans.
2. Guy has a concussion after getting hit with a heavy object
3. Father in law was run over and broke his ankle
4. Ambulance never showed up, no FedEx people helped

QuoteThose Eagles fans are disgusting individuals. Unbelievable.

Pretty soon it'll morph into the Eagles fans were the drivers and purposely ran them down. ::)

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'm glad they mentioned the victim's names.  Now I know who to sue for the damage caused to my front bumper.

QuoteWow, just wow. Thats completely nuts.....but I can't say I'm surprised, the parking staff has enough trouble pointing me to an empty parking spot.

hahahahaha.  What farging planet was this guy trying to park on?  There was about 200 yards of open lot between our tailgate and the stadium.

But this may possibly the best thing ever posted over there:

QuoteBig deal. Warrick Holdman gets run over every week at FedEx Field.

I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

If our actions were 1/10th as bad as our reputation we'd be some seriously badass motherfargers.

I'll bet you 20 bucks the Racists starting the taunting.  As far as I'm concerned, good.  They got what was coming to them.  Pieces of shtein.    Thats what you get for living in the 1800s.  Join the rest of civilization in the new millenium.

For the running over crap.  That could have been any wild ass driving tailing out of the parking lot.  I'm sure the Eagle fans also had a giant ploy to make sure none of the EMTs in the immediate area could get to the man while he was writhing in pain over his ankle.

They really have no one to blame but themselves anyway.   Next time they should sell their tickets to other Racist fans if they don't want any Eagle fans at the games.

Pointing, laughing.

I heard that the eagles fans at the taterskins game tailgate executed dozens of taterskins fans while worshiping the devil.

Did I meantion I hate their "We are the classiest fans on the planet because we said so. Hail Coach Joe" fanbase?

Fans to wear paper bags at Giants game

:-D :-D :-D :-D

QuoteBrown bags in 1080i High Definition, only on the NFL Network.

Have things really gotten this bad?

Quote
I really hope we don't become one of those fan bases.

QuoteWow, even with our beloved Joe Gibbs at the helm this franchise is ****ed up.

QuoteI will be at the game, and I will beat the **** out of anyone wearing a brown bag on their head. I'm NOT ****ing kidding. I will BEAT YOU DOWN LIKE A RED-HEADED STEPCHILD. Just fair warning.

P.S. I've got good lawyers and a chemical imbalance.

QuoteHow any fan of this franchise could go to a game with a bag on their head is beyond me. How dare you.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

My personal favorite:

QuotePaper or Plastic?

Natural Selection at its best.  Watching 20,000 taterskins fans keeling over would be the greatest late Xmas Gift ever.

That's our company, that's our level of success and for the last 15 years and still currently, that IS who we are. Bring on the bags.

QuoteDo you forget we were one win from the NFC Championship last year? I'm sure you were singing a different tune last January. We had a bad year. Get over it. We'll be good again.

And 3 wins away from a Superbowl victory  :yay

QuoteIt hasn't been all bad the last 15 years. Did you think we were "one of the jokes of the league" last year? Of course you didn't, and neither did anyone else. This year has been riddled with injuries and bad performances. All we can hope for is a healthy team next year. If we have Portis and Springs back for the whole season, we will be a good team.

We will be good again. Gibbs has promised to stay until he gets it right. I don't know about you but I take comfort in that.

QuoteI dont feel we are that bad to don the bags. I proposed to do so back when Brunell had the starting qb slot. now I am ok with the team. Next year will be our year :-)

Ironically, The member title for this guy is "The WaterBoy"
QuoteIt's clobbering time on the brownbags! This is great! I have always wanted to be like Terry Tate!! Now I can!

(Scene 1: Some unknown fan with a brown bag over his head, that has his thumb down, and is booing at a taterskins game. From the right side of the screen comes a 6'3 / 250 lb man flying across the aisle, at full speed, and knocks the punk 10 rows down. Then the man stands over and screams "YOU KNOW THE RULES! NO DAMN BAGS AT HOME GAMES!! GET YOUR @SS UP AND OUTTA MY STADIUM!)
Terry Tate II - "RedBeast" Stadium Linebacker, and protector of FedEX : )
???

QuoteI hear that Dan Snyder will be seizing this opportunity and will be selling special commemorative paper bags with the taterskins logo at all entrances to the stadium. Of course he will accept cash or your taterskins Mastercard only.
