The BIGSTUD

I don't have a problem with Florida going if they think Florida is the better team. If they think that then that is their opinion and fine.

But if they chose Florida simply because they want a new team to get a shot at OSU even though they think Michigan is better, then I have a problem with it.

I personally think Michigan is better after watching both teams play multiple times. I think Michigan is better defensively and offensively as well. I think Florida's offense will get exposed against OSU big time.

Well, I think they should have a 8 team playoff system: winners of Big Ten, XII, SEC, ACC, Big East, Pac 10, plus two at large teams.

That way, Wake Forest can stroll to the National Title.   :-D

But seriously, I do think Florida has a case.  I'm not trying to take anything away from Michigan.  It's ashame they had to leave one of the teams out.

If anyone here thinks UF is a superior football team to Michigan, you obviously haven't seen UF play much.

DH

Or Michigan for that matter. Put the Gators up against UM and Leak and Tebow wouldnt know which way to run first.

Yet another season the BCS failed us.

I agree completely, and I'm obviously not the biggest Michigan fan.  The thing that gets me is that the Wolverines came within 3 IN COLUMBUS.  However, on the other side of the coin, Michigan didn't play as many good teams and had a couple of games (Ball State and Northwestern) where they failed to put a lesser team away with ease.  Also, the argument could certainly be made that Michigan had their shot, and blah blah.

The bottom line is that I believe Michigan has the best college football team in the country this year, but they simply should have proven it when they had the chance.  I would have liked to see a Big Ten rematch, but with the unpredictability of college football, Florida could very well knock off OSU.

Plus, I'm a Penn State fan, so what do I care?  Worst. 8-4 team. Ever.

at least michigan got their chance at osu and guess what
they LOST
game over

you dont get a second chance when every other team in the country doesnt even get one chance....they should nfeel fortunate that they had the #1 ranked team in their conference this year so they got a chance to get at them....cant ask for anything more than that

not to mention the big ten is a complete joke this year where as the sec is easily the best conf in the country

So if Michigan beat OSU, would that have been the Buckeyes one chance? Or would they still have deserved a shot at the championship?

Florida is a joke. South Carolina had them dead to rights and blew it - they have no business playing OSU.

So if Michigan beat OSU, would that have been the Buckeyes one chance?

absolutely...what more can you ask for than to have a heads up shot to get to the bcs championship game.....mich and osu both had that...their game was a bcs semi final and michigan lost...championship shot done

michigan struggled with northwestern and ball state...you can take any game on any teams schedule and say they struggled....and struggling against south carolina is more impressive than against northwestern and ball state...

bottom line is with a far tougher schedule florida ended up with the same amount of losses and didnt get a chance to play osu

But if Michigan had won, we would most likely be gearing up for a rematch now.

I dont disagree that the SEC is the toughest conference in the country. I give Florida credit for doing what they did this year but Michigan was a higher ranked BCS team than for the final seven weeks of the year. It bothers me that after Florida wins the SEC (in a game they almost blew), that all of the sudden they jump ahead of UM. Its utter bullshtein that Florida hopped to #2 just because coaches did not want to see a rematch. So, instead we get to watch an inferior game. The game is going to be like the Florida-Nebraska game from 10 years ago where ther score was 62-26, or whatever it was.  You cant tell me that UM/OSU isnt a better matchup that UF/OSU.

And what Tressel did was an embarrassment.

i personally think florida is a better team than michigan...do i think they will beat osu...probably not but it wont be a blowout...osu will win in a close game because of troy smith

and florida moved ahead because they won the championship game in the best conf in the country

perhaps the big ten should adopt a champ game...then again they had their champ game and michigan lost in it

a much bigger disgrace and one that is getting little attention is iowa

2-6 in the big ten

wins against montana....syracuse.....iowa st.....northern Ill.....illinois....purdue

lost 5 of their last 6 games

and they get a berth in a pretty decent bowl texas

unbelievable

Then there's no way you've seen more than 2 Florida games this year.  Florida has been the definition of ugly win all year long.  To give them credit... they still won the games... but you get on Michigan for struggling against Northwestern and Ball State (One of which was without Manningham... the other was his 1st game back)... when Florida struggled with Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and zesty ass Florida State in addition to South Carolina.

Florida's loss was at home to an Auburn team that's had their ass handed to them twice this year.  Michigan's was by 3 points to OSU... in their house.  Like Die-Hard said... Michigan had been ahead of Florida for 7 freaking weeks... including 2 spots ahead of Florida after they lost to OSU.  Now all of a sudden after beating a 2 loss Arkansas team (a game they blew a 17 point lead in), Florida is better?  Enough to jump 2 spots?  Yeah right.

I can't say that Florida isn't deserving of being in the game, they are... but there's no way the pollsters out there believe they're better than Michigan and the votes casted were obviously just as much against Michigan as they were for Florida.  Urban Meyer's whining and politicking paid off, I guess.  Btw... he should take a look at the last Nat'l Championship the Gators won... because they won it in... that's right... a rematch.

Ah well... when Ohio State guts Florida and Michigan runs through USC... that'll just be more proof that Michigan should have been there in the championship game... and that the BCS farged up again.

Except it wasnt played at a neutral site. Play  the game in Soldier Field, and UM wins.

And then were talking about a UM-OSU BCS title game.
