When the taterskins actually go about scoring some touchdowns, Monday is a big day in the D.C. area for buying pizza due to the Papa John's specials tied to touchdowns. After the Niners game last year, a buddy of mine told me they were out of toppings at some stores by noon.

Giants and Eagles would need to lose this weekend...actually that's no true, but it would help. After that:

The Skins, obviously, would need to go 4-0...
The Falcons would need to go 1-3 at best...
The Giants would need to lose to the Eagles...
The Eagles would need to lose to the Cowboys...
The Vikings would need to go 2-2 at best...
The 49ers would need to go 2-2 at best...maybe 3-1 would still be ok, not sure...
The Packers would need to go 3-1 at best...

The Rams would need...well, they wouldn't need to do anything since one of the Skins' wins would be against them...
The Panthers wouldn't need to really do anything, either...they can have the other wildcard spot...

So, yeah, it's still mathematically possible...

it really is amazing the level of optimism down here in DC.  real honest to goodness newsmen and women are talking about the playoffs still, even after yesterdays loss.  unbelievable.  although one guy on the local news here yesterday started talking about the skins playoff hopes and then just started laughing and said who are we kidding.  i'm sure he's fired today.

It couldn't be the self-proclaimed "classiest fanbase in the NFL"? Could it?

we taterskins fans are classy, but when the team is doing as poorly as we did, and its an overrated player that flicked off little kids, we're gonna go philly on him when he goes down. Heck, Vick got off easy, i was shocked there wasn't a "Vick has herpes" chant. If the whole crowd managed to get coordinated for one "DEFENSE" chant, then I think the chants would get rather colorful. So was it classy by us, no. But do the math, (underperforming team + outed to the press by a player + losing a 14 pt lead + overrated opponent + flicked off little kids + the most dense concentration of alcohol other than a brewery/vineyard/distillation) = Boo's, cuz we have to take our frustration out on somebody. The good thing is that Vick got up. In Philly, Irvin didn't and I am sure those fans feel horrible about that. So is there a lesson here...yes, but lets put it in the past with this whole season

The guy above is so, so wrong about how we feel about the Irvin incident.

I'm extremely dissapointed to say that, today, the loudest my section got was when Michael Vick was on the ground being attended to by trainers  Obviously, I'm not blaming anyone on here in particular but that really upset me. I have major gripes with the lack of effort to help the defense by the homecrowd, booing louder than cheering at times but this took the cake. I was definitely ashamed of the fans around me. Section 437 represent. Woohoo.

My girlfriend and I were sitting in traffic coming out of the purple lot and we had our windows down because we were a bit warm. Next to us a guy and his girlfriend (both taterskins fans) are screaming into a van of 4 people (2 men and what I guess were their wives). The guy outside just keeps dropping f-bombs even with kids around and he is clearly drunk. The people inside the van were all taterskins fans as well. The guy goes on about how he has the vans liscense plate and he is gonna f'in kill them, meanwhile the fan inside the fan looks bewildered and doesnt say anything back to the drunk yelling at him.

Then the drunk picks up a glass bottle on the street and smashes it against the van windshield. Glass shatters everywhere and a piece flew into our SUV and landed right in my neck. Fortunately it wasnt a big piece, I got out to try and see where the drunk ran off too, but he was long gone. No cops came the entire time this was happening, they were right up the street doing a poor job of controlling traffic.
