Wow. I thought MI3 was one of the worst action movies I've seen in a long time. Just brutal.

Anyway, I watched Silent Hill last night because I was bored. Awful. It was literally like watching a 2-hour long rendered scene from a video game.

.5/5

It certainly wasn't a smart movie, but like I said, it entertained me for a few hours.  Didn't have high expectations, so I think that's why it worked for me.

Oh, man... I watched about 15 minutes of that dog and felt like pouring acid into my eyes and ears afterward.

Ha!  I'm kinda known for that.  I take a sick kind of pleasure in watching bad movies.

Just watched 'I am Sam'.

I've been watching the sappy movies as of late.  Sean Penn made me believe he had the mental capacity of a 7 year old with his portrayal of 'Sam'. The young piece Dakota did a very convincing job of portraying a young little girl. She nailed it.

The story does pull at your emotional strings throughout the movie. Interesting story...I wonder how often this happens in real life as far as a kid being born under these circumstances.

Solid 8 to 9 of 10. If you haven't seen it, this is another great movie to watch with the lady friend for some points...make her think you have a heart.

Next up to bat...Rain Man (I have to catch up on many, many movies  :'(  )

Saw doom (I'm unemployed these days). Gad-Awful. Why did the Rock take that role? b/c he was evil? It looks like they spent half the budget on his salary.

Saw Stranger than Fiction last night. It was pretty good. I hate romantic comedies, but this was not a bad date movie. Didn't make me want to shoot myself in the face like they usually do. Dusty Hoffman is solid in it.

The Departed was still frickin' awesome. If youse havn't seen that yet, you're  a bunch of taterskins fans.

saw three movies yesterday...

Broken Flowers - everyone involved tried way too hard on this one.  Bill Murray took his "sullen old man" act way further than necessary.  overall, this movie screamed of being too cool for the room and it failed.

The Break Up - i liked it, a lot.  it was a little long, but Vaughn was great, and as many have said, the ending makes it a better movie.  one of the things i like in movies are the supplementary characters, ones that don't make a big difference but throw a few lines in that make a movie better, and Vincent D'Nafrio (sp?) was great in that role as the older brother.

Prime Gig - another Vince Vaugh movie that i caught on IFC late last night.  It's a scam flick, but it had it's funny parts as well.  Ed Harris was also in it, and was very good.   90 minutes well spent in my opinion.

Took the kid to see Happy Feet this weekend.  The graphics were cool for about 10 minutes, but it got pretty redundant quickly.  It was okay enough as a kid's flick, I suppose...but it was trying too hard to be something more than it really was.  My kid liked it, but started to lose interest about 1:10 in.
