You can draft all the stud LBs you want. If you don't have a good, big DT (or two) in there, your LBs will always be hosed. The current batch of convertible DEs just isn't right.

i was thinking abou this the other day.  i still think it's more personnel than scheme.  however, i remember that you think JJ picks every one of his players, so your opinion of that would stay the same I suppose

i wouldnt be against replacing jj...but know this....its 100% the players as the problem with the defense...as opposed to the offense whose problems are 90% reid

there is no doubt that they are going to try and pass off Gocong, Trotter (maybe Gaither) and McCoy as their starting linebackers.  and we'll be talking about this same problems next year.

i don't think it. i know it. it's been said in the media almost every training camp, right after his normal fluffer peice on which 5th or 6th round draft pick is having a great camp.

it goes hand in hand, the personnel is in place because of the scheme. while johnson does sign anyone, or draft anyone, he's virutually a defensive head coach in that reid goes to him about who to keep and who to play.

actually gargano who is buddies with heckert says that johnson has very little input on players...and absolutely no input on draft picks

its pretty obvious that reid has the final and by far the biggest say on PP....the team is built the same all the way thru whether it be offense defense or special teams

solid lunch pail character guys who hustle and play the game right but arent necesarily great players

dhani mccoy and patterson on defense

reno and short on special teams

baskett lewis young herremans jackson on offense

these are just some of the examples

Most of the mock draft sites haven't updated in a while, but as of mid/late October most of them had the Eagles taking a CB.  One of the recent ones (Draft King, 11/14) has them taking Samardzija, which would make igy very happy.
