the mcnabb injury and the abortion that this team has become has overshadowed this

but the treatment of rod hood by this team is absolutely disgraceful

the guy wants to be a starter in the nfl and test the open market to get paid....so he rejects what is most assuredly a lowball offer by banner...so what happens...the organization takes offense to this and black balls the guy....not only is this inexcusable in that youre hurting your own teams chances to win by not having your best players out there which is crime against the fans of the team...but youre blatantly trying to kill a guys chances at making the most money he can by sabotage his career

not only are you pissing your own players off by doing this but youre making your team look pathetic around the league possibly hurting your chances at getting future players to come to your club

what really gets me is the boldness and venom with which the eagles have done this...not even trying to hide or sugarcoat what they are doing to this guy...basically spitting in his face by telling him joselio friggin hanson is better when the exact opposite is true

So, is this thread about Rod Hood, or about the FO's ego in general?

ice grillin you

all of the above

specifically the outright in your face awful treatment of this guy and the FO's actions in general

Are you surprised?  This is the way they have treated everyone.  The only hope is that Rod Hood actually gets a chance somewhere next year.   He deserves it.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I think that they've proven to be right so often when they spurn players, so they feel they're almost always justified in doing it.  I think they need a severe reality check.  I say keep Heckert and Licht, and gut the rest of the organization and especially the coaches.

I agree.  But what did Rod Hood do?  Does anyone even know?  He was injured for a little bit but other than that I hadn't heard anything.  I didn't notice a decline in his play.

And yes get the fat farg out of here.

if you dont want rod hood cause you dont think he good enough to resign then by all means let him walk they have every right to do so...but to black ball him and sit him for an inferior player is outrageous

Are they blackballing M-Lew too, or is his sucky pass coverage ass being benched?

ice grillin you

they gave lewis a reduced role in which he wouldnt be put in a situation where he had to cover people which he clearly has a problem doing...are you saying thats the same as benching one of the best 3rd corners in the nfl for a guy who barely made the team and most likely wont be in the league next year

Lewis is still active for games, and gets on the field...

they decided to just deactivate their third best corner who is healthy

Yea Hood does not deserve to be treated in that way if IGY is indeed right about whats going on. Mike Lewis is garbage

What exactly did you eat before you pulled this stinker out of your ass?  No question Hood pissed big red off and got benched out of spite - that is clear.  But do you think for one second that there wasn't some other reason behind it - a reason that Rod Hood knew and understood - that his agent wouldn't be crying to every media outlet on the planet?

It is bad enough that we have to put up with your opinion - but this baseless speculation is just pathetic.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

yeah, baseless speculation that Banner and Reid are vindictive when it comes to personnel decisions.  what's your explanation for the fact that their 3rd corner was inactive?

The "Hanson was better in practice this week" excuse he gave yesterday sounded really fake when he said it, but if they benched a player for not accepting a contract, the NFLPA would be all over this in a second...

SunMo

of course they never said that...but think about it, they just passed the deadline where contracts can be extended and count against this year's cap...all of the sudden Hanson is practicing better than Hood?
