I really dont see why Gillick would rather spend 100 million on a borderline all star than a stud pitcher given the Phillies needs.

O whatever.

C-Coste/Ruiz
1b-Howard
2b-Utley
3b-Helms
SS-Rollins
LF-Burrell
CF-Andruw Jones
RF-Victorino

That would work.

Dillen

Cubs officially signed Soriano. 8 years/$136M.  :-D

PhillyPhreak54

Jesus Christ thats way too much.

It still sucks we didn't get him. But for that kind of money Sweet Lou and those guys can have him.

Thats farging ridiculous.

Great, more depressing news.

Burrell in left! My dreams are true.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

SunMo

that's a horrible contract, and they'll be regretting it later, but you have to admire their attempts to win now.  oh well, another 87 win year and battle for the Wild Card for the Phightins!
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

mpmcgraw

Attempt to win now?

What makes it even more retarded is that they were the second worst team this year.

SunMo

so?  what has that got to do with anything related to 2007?
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Because they will still suck in 07.  Soriano isnt going to change that.

Geowhizzer

If Prior can have a healthy 2007, the Cubs will be in the thick of things.

That's not likely, but still...
