And does anyone know his status?

He's DEAD!  He was very badly raped, you see! We were assaulted by a gang of vicious, young, hoodlums in this house! In this very room you are sitting in now! I was left a helpless cripple, but for him the agony was too great! The doctor said it was pneumonia; because it happened some months later! During a flu epidemic! The doctors told me it was pneumonia, but I knew what it was! A VICTIM OF THE MODERN AGE! Poor, poor boy!
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

$6M in dead money to be exact.
2006: $6,200,000 (2.075M base+2M pro.+2M roster bonus+125K workout bonus; $8,000,000 dead money)

2007: $7,325,000 (5.2M base salary+2M proration+125K workout bonus; $6,000,000 dead money if cut)

2008: $8,585,000 (6.46M base salary+2M proration+125K workout bonus; $4,000,000 dead money if cut)

2009: $9,720,000 (7.72M base salary+2M proration; $2,000,000 dead money if cut)

Actually, I think they would have a large net savings if they cut Kearse.

$6 million in dead money spread over 3 remaining pro-rated years is a cap hit of 2 million a year. Subtract that from his annual salary and the team saves about  5.3 to 7.7 million each of the next 3 years. That is alot of savings ($18 mil over 3 years) but there is still the hidden cost of what a similar replacement would be. If Kearse can come back to where he was before his unfortunate injury he might still be worth it imo.

The unique thing that the Eagles do so well with in managing the cap from a business perspective is not about being under the cap (teams like the Cardinals are also always under), but that they are structured in such a way that they could cut almost any player on the team at any time (except those who were signed or re-signed over the last 2-3 years) and still come out with net cap space. Even McNabb and his 20 million plus in signing and roster boni.

False.  Any signing bonus pro-ration remaining counts against the cap in the year he is cut.

Also keep in mind that much of those multi-million dollar "base salaries" are performance bonuses that have all kinds of cap-fu going on behind them.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

False. Well, sort of. At least more true than what i said.  Now that I think about it, it depends on when the player is cut. I remember hearing on Sirius, that if a player is cut after June first, half the hit goes to the current year and half to the next. I also read an article though which says all of it would count against the following year's cap. That is why teams often like to cut after June 1 unless there is something like a larger roster bonus due before 6/1. And it's also why, before teams had a good handle on the cap, there used to be a big FA frenzie after 6/1, but not so much anymore with the better cap management now. Except Washington.

A change in the CBA this year--if you cut a player, you can now spread his cap hit over the next 2 seasons.

Yeah, it was in the paper yesterday, actually.  Forget which one.  Anyway, Darwin said that he was trying to explain something to Reid and was getting emotional.  The bottom line was that Walker said that he was totally in the wrong and that Reid was totally in the right; it's a non-issue.

Good answer.  I guess he wants to try to stay an Eagle next year.

Apparently yesterday Trotter was yelling at one of the defensive coaches.  Saying "If you're going to dress him (Bunkley) you better play him!!"

:o

PhillyPhreak54

Trot confirmed that on DNL tonight.

He said he kept coming off the field and seeing Bunk there in his clean jersey and he said that Bunk was upset at not playing so he took it up with a coach and then he started getting some snaps.

While we're on the subject of DTs, I'll say again for the 2nd week, get Rayburn outta there and put Ramsey in too.

mpmcgraw

Well at least Trotter is good for something.
