Greg Ellis tore his left achilles.

With Petitgout out and Madison getting hurt again, the Jints are in trouble healthwise. Emmons, Madison, Toomer, Umenyiora, Tuck, Strahan and now Petitgout.

89 year old Bob Whitfield will likely start for him.

Doubt it.  But I know he's been having some pain in his throwing arm.  Maybe the plan on giving him a week off.  ???  The Pats only carry 2 QB's on their roster and this is their backup:
