Looks like it's pretty much over for the Tigers. I wonder if this is going to be a "93 Phils" kind of team that's only able to put it together for one magical year but still fall short in the end. And then go back to sucking for the next decade or two.

I haven't forgotten, and am still pinching myself over the improbability of where the Redbirds are at this point. But they are getting it done when they have to.....just one more!

And Phreak, I'm taking nothing for granted, the Cards have historically done poorly when up by 3 games to 1 in the post-season (trust me, I remember every excrutiating collapse $:-\$ ). But I'm hoping that last night was the back breaker, and Jeff Weaver can finish 'em off tonight!

the yanks picked up sheffield's option so he can't become a free agent....they know he'd sign with the muts or red sox & that's the last thing they wanted.
so, he's already causing a stink but there's not much he can do....the yanks are obviously looking to trade him...probably to a NL team other than the muts.

he's a great hitter & would be perfect hitting behind howard...sheff is a fleshpop but he always played hard for the yanks & he plays with intensity. he'd be great for the phils....until his contract year.

Yay for the Cardinals. I wanted them to win. Actually I wanted Detroit to lose more than I wanted the Cards to win. Those bandwagon jumpers up in Detroit don't deserve a championship, let alone watch them burn things after they win it. farg Detroit.

Pujols and Scotty deserve it.
