Dallas Morning News blog;

QuoteCowboys departure delayed by T.O.

At least 20 minutes after his teammates had loaded onto buses, T.O. was nowhere to be found. He waited outside the Eagles' locker room and greeted some of his former teammates and coaches.

His receivers coach David Culley gave him the warmest greeting. Former teammates Reno Mahe, Dexter Wynn and Ryan Moats also collected on hugs.

A herd of reporters followed his every move. When he finally arrived on the scene, Cowboys operations guru Bruce Mays shouted, "T.O.'s here, let's go!"

Owens took his seat next to linebacker Kevin Burnett. Quarterback Drew Bledsoe could be seen at the back of the bus pouring his sorrows into a spitcup.

Remember when TO Pinky'd that pass when he heard Mike Lewis' footsteps?

Shawn Barber gave him the Florida Gator alligator arm thing as he was walking back to the huddle. :-D

There is a pic in the Inquirer's photo slide show (can't post the pic here because its in the slideshow) that shows Owens eyes looking right towards Lewis and not at the ball in his hands.

Ray Didinger said that the Eagles were not worried about the run and kept dropping safeties into coverage to keep the big plays from TO and Glenn.

i've been to many great games, Dallas 4th and 1 (twice), 4th and 26, Atlanta NFCCG...

the Atlanta game will still be my best MOMENT at a game...

but this Dallas game was the greatest game I've ever seen.

so many great things to take out of it, but the one i really like is this.  the eagles came out with a ton of emotion and crowd was wild and it was great and they built a 10 point lead.  had they been able to just ride that emotion to the end in a somewhat easy win, it would've been great, but you could say that the Cowboys were overwhelmed by the moment and so on.  the fact that the game settled in, Dallas led at halftime, and they still made the plays necessary to win is a great sign to me.  the event turned into a game, and the eagles won it.

i don't think i've ever had as much fun at a game as i did yesterday.

this weekend is gonna be ridiculous.

It really was a great game.  One of those games that would be brutal to lose.  The NFL has to be thrilled that it pretty much lived up to the hype.  People around the country likely tuned in because of the TO drama, but they ended up watching a classic of a game.

The first real test for the Eagles and we prevail. I think the team played all 4 Qrts this game, first time all season. What a win, I felt bi-polar all game, joyous and then completly pissed the next.

Negatives: all the drops, 3rd and inches pass play( :boom), 3rd and long playaction plays (duh), ineffective run game, McNabb needs to take some off on the shorter passes. Those drops could have been prevented if he took 20pmh off. Jeezzz

Positives: So many positives in this game. McNabb Offensive MVP. Lito and Howard get Defensive MVP for the game. Westy looked good until he coughed up the ball and then he disappeared all game. Reggie and Hank doing their jobs and catching the big pass plays. Big Ups to Baskett! Dawkins with key interception. The whole D-line should be credited for the downfall of the Cowpukes. Even though we had no run defense today, I'd rather them chip away than go deep to TO or Glenn. Our DB's made some mistakes, but the positives outweighed the negatives.

This was such a huge game for us. One of the more memorable games I have ever seen. Classic match-up with Dallas. Today is a great day! ;D

he fumbled the 2nd play of the game, and scored his TD after that

Oh and farg DALLAS!

Considering how many people were dropped into coverage, allowing Dallas only 3.7ypc was really not very bad at all.

Honestly fellas... can a regular season game get any better than that?

My God, what a win.  It's a good thing we're on a message board to talk about this because I have NO voice.  It's been a while since I've felt the kind of joy I did when Lito was returning that pick.

This was the measuring stick for the Eagles and man did they come through.  There were some mistakes, but you gotta credit a good team in the Cowboys for making plays too.

Donovan McNabb is the league MVP right now, no doubt about it.  Yes it's early, only week 5... but he's in the driver's seat.  The only thing I can say on the negative side about his play yesterday was that he shouldn't throw the ball 90mph to a receiver 3 feet away from him.  Gotta put a little more touch on those.

Lito... welcome back, my man.  He played a great game.  Even coming away with 2 picks, he had his hands on a couple others he didn't hang onto.  I think this speaks VOLUMES about the improvement we'll see from the secondary once they're all healthy.  Btw... Joselio Hanson played pretty damn well himself.  There were a few times he was matched up on TO and he covered well and held his own.

The D-line... once again, dominant.  7 sacks... all from the linemen.  Even when they didn't get there for the sack, they were hitting Bledsoe (Howard hit his arm while throwing twice)... never letting him get settled.  They played decent enough against the run and (Killa Cole) came up big on some 3rd and short situations.

This was a huge game personally for us and even though you'd never hear them admit it, I think it was personal to the Eagles themselves... and they came up big.  Great confidence builder and it shows everyone that this team is LEGIT.

Great game yesterday... As everyone said, Lito was awsome.  He had seven passes defenced, 2 picks, 8 tackles and one 102 ind td return.  I watched the game at my parents house with 2 Cowpuke fans(frieds of my brother) and 8 other eagle fans.  IT was great, the cowpuke fans didnt even know they're players names, but the wanted ROMO in at qb every play.  It was great going back and forth, especially the way teh game went down in the end.

SOARIN EAGLE

It looked like it was going to be a long day for both teams during the first half of the game. But the Eagles defense made the difference in the second half. Eagles defense gave up 21 points in the first half while only allowing 3 points in the second half. All cylinders of the machine called the Philadelphia Eagles ran perfectly in the second half. Although McNabbs completion percentage was low he was able to get the ball in the hands of the right receivers at the right time.

McNabb completed passes to 7 different receivers and at games end had his highest total yards passing of the season with 354 and 2 TD passes.

Hank Baskett turned in his best day as an Eagle with 3 receptions for 112 yards and 1 TD. While Reggie Brown continued his solid play this year with 4 catches for 79 yards. Reggie also had 1 TD catch. L.J Smith also continued to have a solid season with 2 reception for 63 yards.

With the exception of the Giants game it doesn't seem to matter who is playing in the game for the Eagles this year. Who ever the Eagles put in they are able to get the job done. Hats off to Eagles management and coaches, they are among the elite in all of sports at this time and have been for several years.

Of course the big story of the day was Terrell Owens return to Philadelphia. Last year his mouth became bigger than his talent and that hasn't seemed to change any this year. Terrell Owens first catch of the   game didn't come until the second half for a gain of 9 yards. As usual Owens had to make a spectacle of himself after making the catch. Owens spun the ball on the ground at the Eagles bench direction. Owens managed to get only two more catches for a total of 45 yards for the game.

I was listening to the Mike and Mike show on ESPN this morning. The show brought up a clip from last weeks show from a former NFL player named Curry. Curry is his last name his first name eludes me now. The clip seemed to sum up what is wrong with players of all sports today but it did fit the TO situation to a tee. The main idea of the clip was that the reason the Cowboy's and the Yankees will fail to win a championships is they have players that play for themselves and not their teams. They play for their next contract, they play for the highlight reel and in doing so don't play for the team. Curry stated that when he played in the league when he thought he had no more to give. He thought of letting his teammates down and what each of his teammates sacrificed to get where they were going. This gave Curry the strength and the will to give more than what he had. Curry said if you don't have 50 players on the team that feel the same way your not going to win championships. This is the reason teams win championships and that teams win championships not individual players.

The biggest difference in yesterdays game was the Eagles played as a team and the Cowboys or least some of them played for themselves. McNabb has preached this over and over again. Maybe some of these players like Owens should step back and see just how true it really is.

After the game in a unsubstantiated report. Terrell was running into the locker room  yelling and asking why the Cowboys bothered signing him. Shortly after that Terrell was seen talking to Cowboys Jerry Jones who appeared to consoling Owens. Just like Curry said on the Mike and Mike show. Owens made this game and every other game he plays in about him and not the team.
