a-rod would actually do well on a team like the phils where he wouldn't have to worry about playoff pressure.

besides the obvious superiority in managerial strategy, all i've been reading the past week is how Leyland has made his players believe they can win, i can't help but think they would've gotten 5 more wins this season with him as the manager

I just dont think this team is that good no matter who is managing. I dont think a manager has that much effect on a team over the entire season.

He stepped into a very nice situation, a team with a nice mix of veterans and young players who were coming into their own. They even shtein the bed in the last month with a six game lead over the Twins.

Lou was holding out hope that Charles would be fired so he could come here, but I guess he might accept taking a step down and managing the Yankees.
