We will take that bum Arod off of your hands.

hunt

only if you have young pitching to give up in return. ;)...i'm thinking somebody like dontrelle willis would be perfect.

It was great to see the Yankees lose.  I only got to catch the last inning, since I was watching so much football.   Get A-Rod! :D

Gavin Floyd for ARod.

Make it happen.

hunt

a-rod would actually do well on a team like the phils where he wouldn't have to worry about playoff pressure.  ;D

He would also be part of the best infield in baseball.

They would be slightly less frustrating but would still miss the playoffs.

SunMo

besides the obvious superiority in managerial strategy, all i've been reading the past week is how Leyland has made his players believe they can win, i can't help but think they would've gotten 5 more wins this season with him as the manager

I just dont think this team is that good no matter who is managing.  I dont think a manager has that much effect on a team over the entire season.

He stepped into a very nice situation, a team with a nice mix of veterans and young players who were coming into their own.  They even shtein the bed in the last month with a six game lead over the Twins.

If the Mets hold on to beat the Dodgers, then Fox gets to put the very sexy Padres-Cardinals series in primetime right after TO Bowl.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Reports that Steinbrenner will fire Torre and hire Lou Pinella.

MDS

Lou was holding out hope that Charles would be fired so he could come here, but I guess he might accept taking a step down and managing the Yankees.

Ha. Imagine Lou's reaction when Bobby lazily coasts for a ball in the corner. Should be fun.
