brief game analysis - Eagles have difficulty trying to balance between pressuring Bledsoe and covering the receivers.  Joselio Hanson draws no less than 2 penalties.  However, the Cowboys' offense is unable to run the ball consistently.  The Eagles, conversely, are able to mix in the running game nicely with Westbrook having taken off last week to rest his gimpy knee.  McNabb always has some mild fits with the 3-4 and clearly has some issues without Stallworth.  Brown will have to get over the dropsies NOW and L.J. and Westbrook will be relied on greatly in the passing game.  Greg Lewis staying hot would be a huge bonus, but it's unlikely.

final score - 24-21 Cowboys.  Evenly matched game decided by two currently-inconsistent-but-formerly-extremely-accurate kickers in Vanderjagt and Akers.  I think Akers misses a key FG, because I have no faith in him being clutch right now.

FF you've predicted loss in almost every game, haven't you? lol

Doesn't live up to the hype, but there's a lot of offense anyway

I've picked them to lose in Yahoo Pick 'Em more than I actually predicted they'd lose in the score.  I honestly think that the Cowboys are coming into this game very healthy and very confident and that T.O. would trade stats for the rest of the season just to play well in this game.  The Eagles have already lost Kearse for the season and are still hurting in the secondary without Hood and without Lito at 100%.  On offense, Westbrook should be effective if he plays, but not having Stallworth will take away some key options on offense, and the Dallas D can make some plays.

I think the teams are roughly even when healthy, so I give the edge to the Cowboys.  From a fan perspective, I think the Eagles absolutely are capable of winning this game and I'd obviously love to see them do it.  But after losing the last 7 divisional games, there's nothing leading into this one that would allow me to pick the Eagles from an objective standpoint.

predict TO's celebration dance when he gets a first down or, god forbid, a TD..... :paranoid

missing stallworth is huge...were he healthy id pick the eagles in a close game...without him they are going to struggle to move the ball with the wr's they have...mcnabb always throws up one or two atrocious games per year....i have a feeling he is gonna struggle in this one

another x factor is westbrooks health...is he gonna be like he was in sf and the eagles held him out vs gb to save him for sunday...or is he worse than he was in sf and he isnt gonna be himself

im with ff....i think the eagles can win this game but i dont think this is the time with the injuries and with dallas coming off two straight bye weeks

27-13 dallas

You're the one who put it in the thread, dook.

brief game analysis -  The key to the game is scoring first.  I see Dallas getting the ball and with the crowd so noisey it's a  3 and out or close to it.  McNabb hits Westy on a swing pass/screen that leads to or is a TD.  Westy has a big day as does #5.  They pick on Roy Williams and run quite a few deep slants.  Eagles get a lead and 'relax' a bit and that's when Dallas makes a run.  Close game but the Eagles don't let this one get away, specifically McNabb, who scrambles for a key first down in the 2nd half.  Dallas played a tough Jax team in the opener, a struggling Washington team, and a high school team in Tenn.  Point is that their defense has not been tested yet and McNabb & co. will do that.

final score - 27-20 Eagles

- probably one or two, since I'll be going over to my buddies right before kick-off

brief game analysis
- Illadelph's first real test this year. Going to be a tight game IMO. Key to Birds winning is pressure on Bledsoe and the O-line protecting McNabb. Also Westbrook is our x-factor, with Westbrook I feel good, without, not so good. If Bledsoe has time our DB's are toast and it can turn ugly like last years first game. They also have a good D, so I'm anxious to see how Reid calls this game. I'd love to see a healthy dose of Westy, Buck and Moats on the ground and us establishing the run game early. Not only does it help pound their D, but I think will catch them off guard since everyone and thier grandma knows we are pass happy.  Opens up McNabb, takes pressure off him. I think McNabb can dominate their DB's, but he's gotta be comfortable.

final score
- 20-23 Eagles baby. missed Vandersnack field goal in last seconds to take game to overtime.

TO touchdowns - 1

brief game analysis -  Cowboys start the game by kicking of an onsides kick.  Eagles recover, and run it in.  6 seconds into the game, Eagles up 7-0.  That sets the tone.  McNabb and Westbrook have huge games, and the secondary effectively keep TO in check.  4 catches for <60 yards, but one is a score.  Glenn gets over 120 yards and a TD or 2.  Bledsoe is sacked >4 times, and their running game is < 80 yards total.  The score only looks close because Dallas (and TO) gets a TD in garbage time.

final score - 30-24 Eagles

SD_Eagle5

TO TDs - At least 1 because he's a great receiver and it will make a good storyline

Brief game analysis - Some of you guys are giving Dallas too much credit, they're not that good...and that's not to say they're a bad team - they're just not anything special. Stallworth's abscence is a killer. I see a slow start by our team because that seems to be the trend.
Players of the game on O: McNabb/Westbrook/LJ. The real star and unsung hero will turn out to be our O-line who I am predicting will have a good game Sunday. Remember, last season when we lost on MNF (sorry to bring back memories) we ran the ball and completely controlled the clock vs. their D. Their D is basically the same D from last season - our O is not, its better. To me, they're the offensive key.
Defensively I'm predicting JJ to come up with some exotic blitz schemes because Bledsoe is so immobile and he will throw stupid picks. We haven't blitzed this season nearly as much as in seasons past, that changes come Sunday. Defensive MVP: Jimmy Johnson

Score predictiion:
Eagles 27
Dallas 17

number of beers/cocktails you will drink before kickoff - 10-15

TO touchdowns - 0

brief game analysis -  the eagles offense has been good all year.  if westbrook plays, they should be able to keep it up.  the cowboys secondary is average at best, so the key for both teams will be protecting the quarterbacks.  i believe that the Eagles will be able to get to Bledsoe and force him into more mistakes than the Cowboys will do to Donovan

final score - 24-14 Eagles
