FRom MIke Wilbon's article;

QuoteYes, Brad Johnson is a proven quarterback, a Super Bowl winner. And he got such a big kick out of beating his former team that he wore his old taterskins jersey from the Vikings' locker room to the team bus after the game

:-D :-D
I hope to see a pic of that.

Burn Snyder, Burn.

I betcha Joey Gibbs enjoyed another one of Theisman's world famous "it's okay Coach, I still love ya" handjobs.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Like I said about that defense - the only way they can get pressure is if they blitz their DBs or Marcus Washington. Losing Pierson Prioleau is a big hit for them. Gregggggggggggg Williams loves safeties like Andy loves offensive lineman.

They let Ryan Clark go (who is better than Archuleta in that defense) and now losing Prioleau is big.

Springs is hurt (he had most of their sacks last year) so they can't bring him. Nor can they blitz the house because then they are leaving Rumph Roast, Kenny Wright and the stud Carlod Rogers out on an island.

But when they left those bums out there in the PS the spinners were saying "That's just good ol' Coach Williams putting his players in a tough position to see how they'll handle it".

Andre Carter is a bust.

Notice that Kedric Golston, a rookie, was one of the best DL tonight. I liked seeing that because it shoves the whole "we don't need young guys" schtick right down people like Art's throat.

Dallas is going to roast those fools.

Eagles 2-0
Cowboys 1-1
Jints 0-2
Skins 0-2

The BIGSTUD

Dallas will probably win, but I hope they lose.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

I wasn't surprised to see how conservative the Skins played on offense. The whole strategy seemed to revolve around them tiring out the Vikes D-Line, throwing screens back and forth, and running swings and pitches to get them to run side to side. It seemed like it was working for awhile. If this is there approach, I wonder how they will try to deal with the Eagles D, when JJ switches out an awesome line for a more fresh, decent line over and over.

Gibbs loves him sum game management, as evidenced by the fact then almost everytime Brunnel was flushed from the pocket or got pressure, he tossed the ball away. With the other team having a lead, that'll cost them.

After watching this game, I am confident the Eagles will own them, as will Dallas and the Giants. Their "ball-hawking, ultra-aggressive" safeties are a huge liablity in the passing game. Just run at them and get them frothing at the mouth to make the "big hit" up near the LOS and then you can fling the ball over their heads into their average-at-best CBs who are now on an island. Nice.
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.""  R.I.P George.

Springs coming back will help them a lot, but... yes.

ice grillin you

springs being out changed everything for them...not so much because hes that good but because hes so much better than thier back up db's (due to the cap and not being able to have any depth)....with springs out the safties couldnt come up to stop the run...when archuletta is tackling receivers mroe than rb's its not going well...they also couldnt blitz like greg williams likes...i counted five blitzs all night

I thought you said the cap didn't apply to the skins and that it was a myth perpetuated by Joe Banner.

it doesnt apply to the skins....they sign who they want when they want...they just only sign big name guys rather than back up corners

Note: The skins defenders were shaking around and jumping up and down like idiots all night last night.
Assclowns all.

Seriously.  Every tackle was a reason to launch a huge celebration.  Awful.

QuoteOn the Robinson touchdown, Minnesota faced third-and-5 on the Washington 20. The taterskins rushed four, dropping seven into coverage, with both safeties in standard Cover 2 dropping deep. The Vikings sent out four receivers. Yet with seven to cover four, Robinson was singled on Rogers in the corner of the end zone. Both Washington safeties stood in the center of the field like topiary, covering no one.

Taylor and Archuleta - big hitters, not so hot at coverage

ice grillin you

taylor is excellent on coverage....archuletta is hot poop

speaking of taylor has any safety ever come to the line of scimmage with that kind of speed and ferocity...he tries to murder the running back on every play

Taylor's untamed aggression is impressive and fun to watch, as an Eagles fan, because it costs his team dearly time and time again.  Like Kornheiser was saying, he even gets penalties via reputation now.  It's good stuff.

Sean Taylor is an idiot.  He's LaVar Arrington, a player the skins fans have convinced themselves they're better without, all over again.  Freakish athletic ability combined with extremely questionable decision-making.

And as for his pass coverage, his mental game there is well below average, but his speed makes up for it to make him about average... unlike a Michael Lewis, who has a similar mental game in pass coverage but can't make up for that lost step.

Taylor's good.  He'll never be great, because he's a goon and an idiot.
