Thoughts on the new NFL programming changes?

There were quite a few changes to channels that carry NFL games on sunday. CBS totally redid their format with a brand new studio, and sleeker looking graphics and scoreboards. I thought it looked nice, but CBS still doesn't have a quality analyst crew, which holds them down.

FOX got rid of James Brown and had Joe Buck with the other guy(forget his name). It was okay. Not a big fan of Joe Buck outside of play by play, which I think he is solid in. The other guy was okay, but I miss JB with the crew. It isn't the same without him, but I didn't think it was awful. One thing that I hated was their new scoreboards making mechanical and futuristic noises all the time. It made me want to mute the TV.

ESPN lost NFL Primetime and moved it to a segment called NFL Blitz that came on at 11:30 on Sportscenter until 12:30. It wasn't as good as NFL Primetime and I was quite disappointed. For one, they cut back to Sportscenter a few times for other highlights of other things and then when they got back to NFL Blitz they didn't finish highlights for every game. They missed about 3 or 4 game highlights I believe. Maybe that was just me, but I don't remember them doing every game. They got to those in Sportscenter, but the highlights aren't as extensive. I hope they can change that up, because it was my favorite show for coverage on the day's games.

NBC surprised me with their NFL highlight show called something like Football Night in America. I was impressed. They showed extensive highlights, and had some quality and longer than usual discussions about each game. Collinsworth can be funny when he's hating on teams and not trying to analyze football, although I never thought he was as bad as most people. One thing that annoyed me about NBC is they play their NFL on NBC theme song for EVERYTHING, and I wanted to take a drill to my ears because of it. I didn't mind it at first, but tonight it finally got to me. It has to stop.

I didn't get to see the new Sunday night pre-game show but I did catch the intro with (Pink?).  It sucked.  A lot.  I hope NBC never shows that pile of crap ever again.  Of course, they will and that just means I won't watch it. 

I hate the fact that sports in general are really catering to the teenage demographic with this shtein.

NBC's HD is the best of all three networks.  I felt like every time they showed Archie Manning, I could reach out and punch him in the penis.  Because he deserves it.

Must be because of my hearing filter that's been built up from being married for 13+ years.

The robots are obviously more important than the replays on FOX. Its become a joke already.

Since it's part of Sportscenter, a show for sports fans with ADD, they can't put all of the football highlights together consecutively.  Despite the constant breaking up after 2 games worth of highlights, it was still nice to have the familiar Primetime music, and they still did Game Balls at the end (Berman gave his to McNabb).  They said they'd do the main games and anything with a major interest (like the top 3 picks of the draft), which is why they didn't do Seattle/Detroit, SF/Arizona or Chicago/Green Bay...

My HD NBC feed has sucked for over a week now in Direct TV.  Everytime the ball is snapped it gets all pixelated and slows down.

It sounds like your dish might be a little off alignment.  Or, your local network doesn't have enough bandwidth.

I had very few issues like that last night.  I was pleasantly surprised.

I watched all the games at a sports bar yesterday, and I don't know if it's different through satellite, but none of the games had the down and distance on the screen at all times.  was pretty annoying actually, you never knew what it was if you were trying to watch multiple games at once.

Weird.  All the games I watched had that on Fox, CBS, and NBC, as far as I can remember.

deion sanders is so annoying. he's ruining the highlight show on NFL Network
