I wouldn't have run you over though, Mo.

damn straight, or we would've had to settle it like men, with a thumb war
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Thumb Wars!

That's a movie. Guy I work with has it. But yet he has the nerve to break my chops about liking Remember The Titans.

Mets win the season series against the Phils: 11-8

Closer than I would have thought.

Just wait until the Phils take your asses out in the NLCS. :paranoid

Yeah, but will we even still be talking in 2026?

The Mets now have the best record in baseball (by percentage points).  :yay

Congratulations you are the best of the worst.

So the entire league is bad now?

Magic number at 16.

PoopyfaceMcGee

The magic number might as well be zero.  Congrats.  Enjoy your loss to the Dodgers in the NLCS.

It isn't?

The Mets may be the only NL team that would make the AL playoffs.

You're crazy if you think LA will beat the Mets in playoffs. Hate them all you'd like...I encourage that actually, but to say they're gonna lose to the Dodgers is just silly.

I know, I know....Pedro isnt healthy, Glavine cant pitch in the playoffs, and Duque is 57 years old, but have you seen what the bats have been doing for Dave Williams, John Maine, Trachsel, etc...? If Pedro pitches effectively in the playoffs (which he will), Glavine gets back to his first half form (which he should) and Duque picthes effectively in the playoffs (which he almost always has), how can you say the Mets are going to the Series?

But for arguments sake...

Maddux                      Pedro
Lowe                          Glavine
Penny                         Duque
Billingsley                   Trachsel

Evenly matched. Which means it will come down to the lineups...

Furcal                         Reyes
Lofton                        LoDuca
Lugo                          Beltran
Drew                         Delgado
Garciaparra               Wright
Ethier                        Green
Betimet                      Floyd/Chavez
Martin                        Valentin

Top to bottom, the Mets have the advantage. Power, speed...plus the Dodgers starters are all righthanders. With a lefty dominated lineup, it would take a gem of a start by any of LA's front 4 to win a game.

Plus, the Mets bullpen is the best in the NL.....

So, Where does LA have the advantage?

PoopyfaceMcGee

Good point.  It will be the Marlins that knock you out.
