Turned 40 a couple of months ago.

The Orioles gave the Phils $500K towards next years $2M option. No word on the PTBNL yet. Conine gets his usual #19 while Varsho switches to #30.

The Reds are losing at San Francisco again, and the Padres are losing at Colorado. Good news for the Phils. Too bad the Giants and Marlins are on our asses again....

In other Phils news, Lakewood clinched the 2nd half division title today and will play the 1st half winner, the Lexington Legends (the Houston affiliate that has Roger Clemens' son Koby)

Looks like the PTBNL is already on the 40-man roster and had to clear waivers, so it could be one of the following:

Brito
Condrey
Floyd
Justin Germano (the guy we got for Cormier)
Sanches
Angel Chavez (SWB SS)
Josh Kroeger (SWB OF)

Getting Conine is solid. He has farged this team so many times in the past while in FLA now he can help. But in true Philadelphia fashion he won't do shtein and he'll make a ton of erros and strike out a lot.

I thought I liked this trade until I realized we wouldnt need Conine if not for another retarded Gillick trade.
