I was watching the replay of the game and the Mets PBP guy was talking about how Howard strikes out a lot.  Just as he finished, Howard crushed the home run.

Here's a stat someone mentioned over on the Phils board:  Howard has more HRs since his HR derby win last month than Abreu has since his win last year...  :-D

it's awesome he hit a slam, but really he was lucky that Perez hung that pitch, because Howard was swinging at whatever pitch was going to be thrown

He did swing at 2 terrible pitches before that though.

Harry did the same thing tonight with Beltran. He was talking about how Carlos was one away from tying a career high in HRs and as soon as he finished Lieber hung a slider and it was gone.

and don't look now but the Mets have the bases loaded and 0 outs with the Phils hanging on to a slim 5-4 lead
