Davis with no knees = TJ Duckett

And I'm no fan of Davis at this point.

Both averaged 3.1 YPC last year.

Duckett was getting the rep of being a Hoyda because he tippy toed through holes and id not hit them hard. He ran like Dunn despite being built like Bettis.

ice grillin you

yeah but he avgs 4 yards for his career....he had an off year last year...but is now playing for a starting job in the league next year....its a good acuisition that the skins again overpaid for

i still think of duckett as a great RB because the first thing i think of is him totally dominating penn state in his senior year.

I was at that game in East Lansing.  MSU builds a 28-0 lead.  PSU comes back to tie, then is driving for the win... when TE John Gilmore fumbles it back to MSU, leaving them just enough time to drive down the field for another Duckett TD.  The annoucer yelled "T.J. T.D.!" every time he scored, and it sucked.

phattymatty

ha, i used to be good buddies with gilmore, he went to high school with me.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Well, kick him in the nuts for me if you ever see him again.

phattymatty

last I heard he was the 3rd TE for the Bears.  not sure if he's still there.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Yes, he is.

So, will the skins be cutting Betts or Cartwright?

QuoteBroncos send Lelie to Atlanta in 3-way deal
By Jeff Legwold, Rocky Mountain News
August 22, 2006
Broncos wide receiver Ashley Lelie got his wish Tuesday night as did the Broncos.

Lelie wanted a change of scenery and has gotten one as Denver was part of a three-way trade with the Washington taterskins and the Atlanta Falcons. In the end the Falcons ended up with Lelie, the Broncos have the potential to get the taterskins' first- and third-round draft picks and the taterskins got running back T.J. Duckett.

Denver will receive Washington's first- and third-round picks if the taterskins' finish with a worse record than the Broncos this season and thus have a higher pick. If Washington finishes with a better record than Broncos they will then get the taterskins' third- and fourth-round picks.

The trade was completed Tuesday night as the three teams agreed to the terms.

For Lelie it means he finally gets back on the field after vowing he would not play for the Broncos again if he didn't have to. He has been upset at the prospect of being the "No. 3 receiver with the Broncos and nothing more'' after the team traded for, and then signed long-term, wide receiver Javon Walker.

Lelie had not attended any of the Broncos offseason workouts and had not attended training camp. The team had fined Lelie $14,000 a day, a total that reached $322,000 for training camp alone as of Monday's practice.

The Broncos players had Tuesday off.

Lelie was also fined just over $11,000 for missing the team's mandatory minicamp in July. It was unclear early Tuesday night if Lelie will have to pay the fine to the Broncos or if it was waived as part of the trade.

QuoteDenver will flip flop first-round picks with Washington if the taterskins' finish with a worse record than the Broncos this season and thus have a higher pick. The Broncos would also get Washington's third-round pick in that scenario.

If Washington finishes with a better record than Broncos this season the teams will keep their first-round picks and the Broncos will receive the taterskins' third- and fourth-round picks.

QuoteBroncos | Team could swap first-round picks with Washington
Tue, 22 Aug 2006 20:17:35 -0700

Correcting a previous report, the Denver Broncos could swap first-round picks with the Washington taterskins as part of the three-team deal involving former Broncos WR Ashley Lelie. If the Broncos finish with a better record than the taterskins, Denver would receive the taterskins' third-round pick and they would flip-flop first-round picks. If the taterskins finish with a better record than the Broncos, Denver would receive the taterskins' third- and fourth-round picks in the 2007 NFL Draft.

There is absolutely no reason to not laugh your ass off at the taterskins.

Duckett--last 5 games of 2005--43 yards on 39 carries.

I think Betts is gonna get traded soon, Duckett is gonna be the backup for Portis now.

In all fairness to Duckett though, he stopped the wipe the football off everytime Vick handed it to him.

phattymatty

portis lasted until the third round in my fantasy draft, and i still didn't even think of touching him.

this trade drops portis's fantasy value a ton.  duckett be stealing TDs left and right.

It might be tough for them to find a taker.  Teams know that if Betts were worth trading for, the skins wouldn't have needed to trade two picks for Duckett.  The skins will have to cut him if they don't want to hold him on the 53.
