I've never said that they have zero chance to make the playoffs, but I just think it hardly matters when the team is obviously not good enough to win a best-of-7 series against any decent team.

Good thing there are no decent teams in the National league.

I am just pointing out that if the Phillies get in the playoffs they probably have as good of a shot as anyone to go to the World Series.

Besides, if we make the playoffs there is no way the owners can pocket the money they have saved from the trades, and I have been worried about that.

The rest of the NL would much rather the Phils make it than the Astros.

Even without Pedro, the Mets are probably the favorites.  It would make the chances of any team much more wide open, though.

That said, the Phils' playoff chances are slim.  Lindsey Lohan slim.
