An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

You don't program, and you don't watch Trek.  I'm surprised it isn't lower ;)

But I do roleplay, and I do watch Trek.  Plus, I'd seen every single movie listed in that section.
Anyone but Reid.

I would like to say that merely taking the test is enough to bump everyone up to extreme geek... taking the test because we found it on a message board that we spend WAY too much time makes us all dysfunctional.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Rome

I read a lot so the questions pertaining to reading caused my score to go from a shade over zero to the figure I posted earlier.

I've also seen most of the Star Trek and Star Wars television shows/movies as well as The X-Files.  I dont think I've ever met someone who hasn't seen at least a few episodes of Star Trek or a Star Wars flick, so I can't see how that makes a person a geek.  Dressing up as one of the characters definitely does and speaking an "alien" language fluently makes you a prime candidate for forced sterilization, IMO.

As far as the whole "role-playing games" thing goes, I'm not real sure what that entails.  Can anyone shed a light on this?

I was 5.something poser, not suprised I never have really considered myself a geek.  I am more of a drunken idiot.

And aside from my profession, I think I've seriously un-geeked myself from high school days.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.
