Are they seriously considering contending for the wild card with farging Scott Matheison as a starter? Can't they trade his bum ass for another Cory Lidle, someone who can give us 4 runs over 6 innings (not 5 over 3).

And I agree with PG. Plenty more to play. A sweep against the Reds would have been sweet, though.

I never said that. However, to make comments like you did after one loss (when the team is on a run like they are) is kind of ridiculous.

If they go on a losing streak putting themselves 6-7 games out, then that comment would be a little more appropriate, IMO.

You hate the Phillies...kind of like what I said to MDS on the Flyers thread...why bother reading/posting on this thread? Just askin'.

I hate the Phillies too but they're like 2 fat people farging in a gynormous bowl of mayonase......sounds bad and looks worse but you watch it anyway.

I like the Phillies. I hate the owners, and I think the manager sucks, and I hate a few of the players... so it comes across that I hate them. Oh, and I hate the fans that are stupid enough to think a team like this has any chance of making anything happen. Wake me up if they have a winning record again, and then I'll give you even more reasons to give up hope.

No major league team should be trotting out Chris Mathieson every 5th game right now, and no contending team should even think about it. So, as long as we've established that they're not contenders, then we can delude ourselves into thinking the ownership will allow the GM to go out and improve the team next year... when we all know there is no way in hell that's going to happen.

I didn't say I prefer watching it. I said I can't help it.....just like I can't help but watch the Phillies. Watching hot lesbians get each other off is in no way like watching the Phillies. Watching lesbians is enjoyable and the best part about it is it doesn't matter which side scores first.
