Well, it matters if you want the team to have any chance to improve with their swiftly-dropping payroll.

if they use the money to get a better player or players than abreu then its fine....if they dont its a disgraceful move

they won't and we all know it.

the payroll next season will more than likely be no more than 70M of active player salaries. (i say active, because they tried to tell everyone that their payroll went up this season, which it technically did, but they were paying thome)

Attendance is going to be down for the second year in a row...and dramatically lower than opening year of the shiny new ballpark...if anyone thinks payroll will go up after 2 seasons of declining revenue...you are doing nothing but kidding yourself.

i can just about gaurantee that Ryan Howard, nor Chase Utley will ever see a second contract with the phils unless attendance rises, or ownership changes.

That chedda is going right in Monty and the rest of the idiots pockets. They wont allow Gillick to spend it. Watch.

1-0 Braves Bot 5th.  That run should be solely on Victorino's shoulders.  Misplayed the ball off the wall and then couldn't field it properly allowing the runner to get to 3rd.

Eagles_Legendz

And Howard is thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple on two perfect relay throws.

Burrell swings at an off speed 3-0 pitch, nubs it, and then doesn't run down the line immediately and gets thrown out.

Hamels nice day (again) is wasted.

He knew the pitcher would work it back to 3-2 and then catch him looking at a curve right over the meat of the plate.

So, you gotta give him the credit of having the foresight to avoid that.

That's true.  We want to leave the complete offensive ineptitude to Nunez, who seems more than capable of taking care of that concern completely by himself.

Eagles_Legendz

Please bring Abreu back.

Please.

Eagles_Legendz

Bases loaded, down 3-0, 1 out.

Left handed pitcher coming in to face Dellucci.   :-\

Eagles_Legendz

Dellucci hit it to the top of the CF wall.... 3-1

BigEd76

Hudson had his stuff tonight and made the Phils look bad.

argh Looch....1 foot or so from a grand slam  :boom

Meanwhile, all the teams that the Phils needed to lose......won....

Pat doesn't watch curves. He watches meaty fastballs.

I've seen part of one Phillies game since mid june, yet I hate Pat Burrell more than any other Phillie at any point in my life.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
