Over.

I say he gets 50 total.

And hitting the sign was pretty cool. I wonder who the person is who won 500 free flights and if they'll ever use all 500?

From ekravitz on PhilaPhans...he heard Randarino on WPEN...

QuoteNow, Randy Miller is on and is saying that Manuel will not be fired this season, that Gillick knows they can not win this year, that Manuel wants to blast his players but he won't for some reason and the FO/Hierarchy knows the attendance will drop this summer and fall and seem prepared for it.

Also, says he expects Abreu to be traded by the end of the month and that the team wants to trade Burrell (actually said would give him away) but getting little to no interest

now, he is talking about a story where during the last series of the season, the players in the clubhouse were rooting hard for the Cubs against the Astros (says the players were like children rooting for the Cubs and it was good to see) except for Lofton who was not there and Burrell who was observed parting with a 6 pack in his street clothes and indifferent to the outcome. says the FO really wants to dump Burrell for nothing but can't even get anyone to do that. says the failure to dump Burrell means they have to trade Abreu

I was surprised that Howard won the derby after watching his first few swings of the competition.  It was as if he didn't "get" it.  I couldn't believe how many times he parked the gold ball in that first round.  Clutch!

That's the same thing my buddy and i were saying.  It's like he really thought he was taking bp and had to remember where he was.  It's amazing that he came back with the gold balls and parked 4 of them.  Before it even started last night I told my buddy that it was the Ryan Howard coming out party.  Everyone would know who he was if they didn't before the derby.

did anybody check out Giles' comments in the Inky?  it really is enough to make a phillies fan cry.

i didn't read them, but WIP was running the quotes in their updates, to summarize what i heard....

Giles doesn't think they will ever sell in his lifetime, it's not about the money for them, they enjoy owning the phillies.  even if Mark Cuban came along and offered an obscene amount of $$ they probably wouldn't sell.  He also thinks that David Montgomery has done a "spectacular" job as the team president.

If by "cry" you meant go on a protracted killing spree in South Philly, then yes, I'll agree with you.

Also - the comments about Patricia are really disturbing.  Laid back is one thing but disinterested - not good.  Not good at all.

For those that don't know who the owners are:

QuotePhillies president and part owner David Montgomery is the spokesman for ownership. He has complete management authority over the organization. But the ownership includes limited partners. Bill Giles, of Giles Limited Partnership, may be the best known of a group that includes Claire S. Betz; Tri-Play Associates (brothers Alexander K. Buck, J. Mahlon Buck Jr. and William C. Buck); and Double Play Inc. (chairman John S. Middleton). Being a Phillies limited partner means you stay in the background and keep quiet.

My son and I are going to the the Lakewood A ball game to see Wolf pitch. What do you guys think about bringing a Wolfpack sign? Anyone think Randy would appreciate it? I will be sure to report on his progress.
Alert, alert. Look well at the rainbow. The fish will be running very soon.
