Except that Omar doesn't have to deal with guys like Lieberthal & David Bell stealing money now.

That's why the 2007 season will be different in Philly.  A lot of the trash that has been allowed to fester in Philly thanks to Ed Wade will be gone.  2006 was a toss of the dice because everything had to pan out correctly for the Phillies to contend.

In other words, career years were needed from everyone including the starting pitchers and other than Utley & Ryan Howard, no one has had anything close to a career-type year so far.

There's a lot of bums in that locker room who won't be there next year.  Guys who have spent 10 years or more doing nothing but underachieving.  When Gillick has the financial freedom to go out and get some talented guys who also have heart, the Phillies are going to be a dangerous group.

2006 is in the shteinter now.  So be it.

PS: Regardless of how crappy the players have played, I still want that idiot savant of a manager out of here.  Bring in a legitimate Major League manager.  Otherwise, all the talent in the world won't make a difference.

Keep in mind, Wade gave FNTC to Burrell, Abreu, Rollins and maybe Lieber. While they are not the reason this team sucks, it significantly hinders Gillick's ability to improve the team when he can only trade certain players to specific teams.

The Mets finally lost a game. Luckily though, the Phils lost to the powerhouse Devil Rays, so th elead stays at 9.5 and the magic number is now 87.

Mets lose 2nd straight to the O's, 4-2.  Once again, they fail to get any run support for Pedro.  :boo

Watch, they'll score 8-10 runs for Glavine tomorrow. 

Once again though... the only team in the East that can take advantage is the Marlins.  If they weren't still 13 games back though, I might actually give a shtein.
