I remember Dickie Thon got beaned in the eye by Doc Gooden when I was real young. I also remember laughing at the name "Dickie".  :-D

Are there any rules to this or is it just name some players from the 80's?

I think it was Mike Torres who got him...

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Im pretty sure it was Gooden. I remember watching it on one of my old school Mets VHS's.

Unless he got hit on the eye more than once  :paranoid

It was Torres

I think it was in 1984, so I was too young. The only reason I remember it was because when Thon was on the Phils I remember them talking about how great he was until he got beaned. They said he had the potential to be something special at the SS position.

The funny thing about that link was that listed right below Thon's name is our boy Uncle Charlie

80's basebal cards were the best. My favorite were 86' Topps with the wooden border.

Jack Howell
Ed Hearn
Terry Leach
George Hendrick
Mike Krukow
Jeffrey Leonard
Jose Lind
Walt Terrell
Max Venable
Mike Fitzgerald
Greg Olson
Greg Gagne

Good find Phreak. I stand corrected.

Good piece of trivia...What else is Torres famous for?

That was 1987.

1986 had the team name in big block letters across the top.
