New World-  :cfhead :cfhead  like watching a work of fine art at times... which would have been much better on the big screen  than at home.

For James Bond fans, the first teaser trailer is out.

I have to say it looks pretty good.  :yay

Daniel Craig is a badass.

He was awesome in "The Road to Perdition."

I have to say that I was shocked at his choice for Bond but I'll see it anyway.  I'm a sucker for 007 movies even the bad ones.

ice grillin you

I'll be seeing DaVinci  at 720 pm on Friday and Poseiden on Sat....looking forward to DaVinci and just hope it does the book a little justice...although Angels and Demons was better.

I was surprised, but I think with the producers trying to make Bond more like Fleming's character, Craig will do a good job.

And I'm with you, Rome.  Love all the Bond movies- own all three sets.

What do you mean by more like Fleming's character (never read Bond)?  Do you mean less of a cheesedick cornball and more badass, because thats what I hope you mean.

Sure was

Bond was a cold-blooded professional killer in the Fleming novels.  He was just as ruthless as the criminals he pursued.

They sanitized him in the screen versions for obvious reasons but it does appear that they're starting over with this new version and getting back to the roots of the character.

Like I said, Craig was a choice that I was stunned by because I didn't think they'd have the balls to cast a legitimate actor in the role and Craig is definitely legitimate in a scary, menacing kind of way.

I can't wait to see the finished product, especially after enduring a decade of Pierce Brosnan hamming his way through film after film.

Precisely.  My understanding is that they're going to have a lot less gadgetry (Not sure if John Cleese is coming back as M or not) and focus on Bond as a master spy and assassin.

Casino Royale was actually Fleming's first Bond novel.  He sold the rights to it before making his deal with Broccoli/Saltzman (the producers of the official Bond films through I believe Live and Let Die before Saltzman sold out to Broccoli, and Broccoli ran things himself through his death).  Sony/MGM/UA and the Bond Producers (Broccoli's company EON productions) bought the rights to Casino within the past few years.

Saw "Da Vinci" this afternoon.  I pretty much agree with most of the critics that is just does not have the intensity of the book and is a tad too long.  I also think that if you did not read the book you will be completly lost after the first ten minutes.

Overall I give it a "meh".
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

ice grillin you

da vinci is for people who havent read the book...because if you read the book the movie is devoid of any excitement or anticipation as you know exactly what is going to happen..which isnt good when watching a thriller/mystery

Saw Harold and Kumar go to White Castle this past weekend... guess you had to be high to enjoy it.

:cfhead :cfhead

Neil Patrick Harris was pretty funny in it though.

I found that movie hilarious.

So did I. LOL.

The scene that has Doogie Howser doing lines off a chick's bare ass in a convertible while DRIVING was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.  :-D

:-D

Yeah, I was dying with that scene.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Finally watched Collateral last night.

I give it a meh.

It started out OK and was OK up until the ending.

Jada Pinkett Smith looked good in it though.
