104 sacks allowed?!? I must have blocked out that hideous memory.

True, but he's no Ashley Lelie.

Neither is Todd Pinkston, thanks to a blown achilles.  But we're discussing that in another thread.

haha oh yes, brought back many memories......or maybe they are more like scary flashbacks  :o

Thanks for posting the article, Sun Mo, that was a good find  :yay. I well remember Buddy Ryan's arrival in Philadelphia, and being perplexed by moves like waiving Earnest Jackson. I also remember watching Randall Cunningham's errant quick kick in that opener at Washington and thinking "this is going to be a very long season".  :-\

Buddy Ryan was easily the most unorthodox of the Eagles head coaches that they've had since I've followed the team. I think he operated almost totally on gut instinct - or at least, he sure gave the impression that he did!  :paranoid

64,

Remember that game well.  I watched as a senior at the Univ. of New Hampshire.  Remember the starting backfield that game?  Wasn't it some blond kid?  And Junior Tusatalasi played a lot that game.  Randall's quick kick!  Oh my was that awful.  That was when Buddy would put Randall in on third and forevers and say just do what you gotta do.  One positive note that year was when the birds went into LA and beat the Raydahs in OT.  That was a fun game to watch.  Almost beat the Bears in Chicago in week 2 or 3.

Oh yeah, the game against the Raiders was excellent, some big plays in that one. I think that even included a Gregg Garrity punt return for a TD. And the Week 2 game against the Bears was really an impressive effort on the part of the Eagles - they took the defending champs to OT after looking awful against Washington in the opener.
