questionable use of gordon in a 4 run game with no day off this week, but hey, this is cholly.

gonzalez shouldnt make the trip to florida. call up danny sandoval. utley and rollins dont really need days off, and nunez can play first when howard needs a spell. gonzalez is a total minus. he makes them worse.

Don't necessarily blame him for that.  Need to get out of Pittsburgh with a win.  Put in Geary/Cormier/leave in Franklin, and chances are that Gordon would have been in the game with the quickness anyway.

Because he's a lesser known name and they want to act like they have insight. I'd rather have Piniella, personally. Either that or set my time machine back 2 years and hire Leyland.

Does all the talk that Pinella overuses his arms worry you?  That is about my only concern about Piniella.  I would hate to shorten Floyd, Madson and Hamels career.  I thought Bombard did a very good job in AAA and has a good relationship with the young nucleus.  Need to use Bell and Lieby's money next year on pitching and bring up Coste and Ruiz.

Great play by Gonzalez at 1st. Pay attention to the safe runner running past you while ignoring the guy from second who comes around to score. Pathetic, he should be cut after the 3rd out.

Holy shtein at that last play. Down 5-2, bases jammed, 2 outs, 0-2 count to Victorino. He hits a bloop past the diving 2nd baseman, it goes off his glove and 2 runs score. Marlins get caught off guard and Rollins sneaks home and makes an amazing dive past the outstretched catcher. Games tied 5-5.
