QuotePanthers | Team lands K. Johnson
Thu, 23 Mar 2006 17:57:44 -0800

Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Star-Telegram, reports the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a four-year deal with free agent WR Keyshawn Johnson (Cowboys). Johnson received a $5 million signing bonus.

He's a good fit for the Panthers.

Sucks they don't have a QB to get him the ball.

Paired with Steve Smith, they'd do some damage.

Delhomme went 262 for 435, 3421 yards 24 TDs and 16 INTs last year.  88.1 rating.  That's not horrible.  And Steve Smith got the ball plenty enough to lead the league in recieving yards in both regular season and pre-season last year.  Delhomme ain't bad.

Update on Vinatieri...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-colts-vinatieri&prov=ap&type=lgns

QuoteIn a March 22 story about the Indianapolis Colts' signing of kicker Adam Vinatieri, The Associated Press erroneously reported that he is a descendant of Gen. George Custer. Vinatieri is a descendant of Custer's bandmaster

That made me laugh, but not out loud.

OK... so you think Delhomme isn't good enough to get the ball to Steve Smith and Keyshawn and you don't think TO is gonna be productive in Dallas.

Cool.   :paranoid

TO will be productive.

Only 70 catches 1,000 yards productive not 90 catches 1,400 yards productive.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

The BIGSTUD

He didn't even do 90/1,400 in this offense, how the hell is he going to do it in dallas?

There is no way he has a better year in dallas than he did here the last 2 years - not counting injuries. We had way more offensive weapons than dallas, a better offensive line, a better QB, and pass like 70% of the time.

ice grillin you

the catches and yards are really irrelevant...its all about how much he gets in the end zone...if he has double digit td's he had a great year and the rest will come...including giving indirect protection for bledsoe and helping the run game

dook is gonna have a big year lets just all agree on that
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Compared to other receivers in the league, he'll have a big year, but compared to TO's other seasons I don't think 2006 for TO will be anything groundbreaking. He's not going to play better than he did here in 2004 or 2005 until he got hurt. 2005 was on pace to be the best season of his career. He was on pace for 95+ catches and 1,500+ yards.

I expect TO to get his 70 catches and 1,000 or 1,100 yards but he's not going to drop a 1,400 on the league I'll guarantee that. Not in dallas he's not. Put him in a Colts uniform and you bet he does it, but no, not in dallas. He's a great player on a very mediocre team.
