I don't work for the Eagles, so at this point, I'm gonna wait until about Oct to decide whether they screwed the pooch.

Apologist, no, but a hell of a lot of you were "trust the FO, they've earned it" 12 months ago, are now throwing the FO under the bus.

Don't we make fun of the taterskins for being paper champs in March?  We may need to get Sarge's Point and Laugh at the Eagles thread back.
Anyone but Reid.

I'm not throwing anyone under the bus until the season starts and we see how these players perform together.

That said, my objective analysis is that the team has missed some unrecoverable important chances to improve already, and I worry that the top-line talent and/or depth at some positions is not good enough to get the team back to the playoffs, let alone win the Super Bowl, which should be the only goal now.

not me...they never earned shtein...win a superbowl then you get free passes...in fact they did something worse than just plain suck...they were right on the edge of the superbowl but never committed themselves 100% to winning it and thus may have lost their chance for good...
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

They certainly deserve some credit, but this year sort of has that bungled feel to it.  Sure they'll be better just by getting healthy...but they really need to upgrade when possible, and there were a few opportunities this year that they didn't take advantage of.  That's all I'm saying.  They still might be very good next year, but they could be doing more now.

people have very very short memories.

reid and co have improved every single season since their reign began. until last season, where they took a step back. last season was a season of every single thing going wrong that could have gone wrong.

1 bad season is ok, this season is a big test. i learned to trust their moves in the past, which is why i am accepting the moves this offseason. i'll wait until the news counts, and the games start before i go declaring anything a success or failure.

it's pretty easy. cap room doesnt count, large contracts don't count. and neither one of them will determine success or failure...

if they win...success
if they lose...failure

2. Na'il Diggs - A solid SAM 'backer from GB. He has had some injury problems if I recall correctly but when he is right he is a good player.

Whoo hoo.  This year's version of Nate Wayne.

Oh, I get it. Just because they both played in GB they automatically equal Nate Wayne's flop here. Right on!

Diggs > Jones.

What is today's date?

March 21st.

When does the season start?
When does training camp start?

To judge the Eagles now is beyond ridiculous. Of course everyone wants to see players signed. But signing huge names doesn't equal success. When will people get that?

I like the 5 signing so far. They needed to be done.

And I want a SAM, Runyan back and another veteran DT. Get those 3 things and I don't think anyone should be complaining.

rjs246

To this point the offseason has sucked donkey ass. The team knows that their linebackers eat piles of severed penis, and yet they signed an injured special teamer. They lost the best WR in the game (and good riddance) and replaced him with a dude with midget hands and 'potential.' They still don't have a RB with size, or a professional FB. They missed out on one of the best offensive linemen in the game and have made little or no effort to sign their best offensive lineman who also happens to be one of the team's few do-anything-to-win players/leaders.

But hey, they got Garcia and released McMahon. Woo farging hoo.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

But it's not done yet. Did I miss the memo that said rosters must be set by today?

Wayne was good with GB, too.  And Wayne was > Jones.  Actually, I might be > Jones. What's your point?

PhillyPhreak54

My point is that anyone is better than Jones and regardless of if the move resembled the Wayne signing they should make a run at him to get that sorry ass bowtie wearing bum off the team.

Cataldi said this team will struggle to win 8 games and could end up 5-11.  The rest of the morning crew said it's impossible to predict anything before the draft or the June cuts, and they still have the best QB in the division.  He didn't care and proclaimed that they've done nothing to improve the team and the OL, DL, WRs and LBs still suck, although the signing of Garcia was OK.

No, it's not done yet, but the true impact players (minus Arrington, who they won't sign) are all signed.  they may add players from here on out, but they won't be at the level of players that they have passed up so far.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I'm not saying that would be a bad move...but it wouldn't be one that I'd be all excited about.  Better than Jones is still potentially very different from being good enough to make a difference.
