You downloaded brokeback mountain to your PC? For personal viewing?

It's like I don't even know you anymore.

Jake Gyllenhaal's character dies, I heard.  Heath Ledger's character becomes a sad old 'mo with no one.

My problem isn't the homosexuality in the movie.  It's that it would appear the whole movie is depressing and the end is even worse.  I don't watch movies to be depressed the whole time.  That's not entertaining.

I thought Allman was pretty good in this movie.  I mean, he didn't do much.  But his visage was enough to convince the viewer that he was a bad dude.
I also thought the scene of Patric taking dope for the first time was well done.  Made my stomach turn with "don't do it!" sort of sensation.  Kinda like the video of 'Ol Dirty bastich smoking crack the night he died.  Never actually saw that video, but I heard it exists and the thought alone inspires the same sort of reaction..watching people shoot up or smoke rocks is like watching them kill themselves.  Un-fargin-settling.

I said almost the exact same thing to my old lady this weekend.  Life is depressing enough..I don't need to make it worse by watching a movie about miserable people in an impossible situation, ending badly.  Farg!

"Layer Cake" is a fairly decent present-day gangster flick.  Some great acting, and not much thinking involved.  Sadly, it might be one of the best movies I've seen on DVD in quite some time.  I would recommend it as a solid guy movie.  Plus, it has Sienna Miller half/mostly naked for a few minutes as a bonus.

4/5 or so.  Probably more of a 3.5, but I've seen so many really awful movies lately that it seems like a 4.

Do you really find life depressing?

That's sad.

not all of us bath in teh glory of crack and find our little happy shelter lives on this world so great.  if it wasn't for all the materials we possess and the bullshtein we are feed, then maybe some of us would realize how farg up life is.  some of us just want to ignore and be selfish iceholes, while others choose to embrace reality.

I have no idea what you just said.

Also, I just read this entire thread from beginning to end. Some funny stuff in here not to mention some very good movie chatter. As Dio said a while back, it's kind of remarkable how many movies we all watch.

Not really.  A movie is what, two hours?   If you watch three a week, that's nothing.

I wish I could find three decent movies per week to watch.  The horseshtein that Hollywood trowels out these days certainly doesn't help matters.

I'm going to see "V is for Vendetta" tomorrow, though.  I've heard a lot of good things about it, so we'll see.

I don't know what you're talking about. It was a solid waste of my company's time. Every one of you should be envious of my time wasting skills.
