bubkley just isnt one of those players that overly excites me...i like him and if they go with him at 14 i have no problem...but you dont trade a first day pick to get him

I feel the same way. Bunkley's getting some good reviews and he fits JJ's philosphy at DT. I like Winston Justice too but wouldn't trade up to get him (unless we're talking a second day pick).

So if I had to give up a #3 to move up to get a stud DT, I do it. Whether it is Ngata or Bunkley.

No.  Neither player is good enough to deserve it.

PhillyPhreak54

You don't have to be a top 10 player to be a stud.

Like I said - I wouldn't trade up to get him at 7 or 8. But I would trade up to get him at 11 or 12.

For the helluva it:

1. Houston - Reggie Bush
2. New Orleans - D'Brickashaw Ferguson
3. Tennessee - Matt Leinart
4. New York - Jay Cutler
5. Green Bay - Mario Williams
6. San Fran - AJ Hawk
7. Oakland - Vince Young
8. Buffalo - Haloti Ngata
9. Detroit - Mike Huff
10. Arizona - Vernon Davis
11. St. Louis - Jimmy Williams
12. Cleveland - Tye Hill
13. Baltimore - Chad Greenway
14. Philadelphia - ?

It could shake out like that. But I think that since NO signed Drew Brees it could throw a wrench into the top 10 line-up if they are looking to trade out of #2. Baltimore is the only other team who I fear would take Bunkley.

ice grillin you

bunkley has blown out both ligaments in one of his knees...you dont give up anything to get a guy like that...he had a great combine but was just another first rounder before that...he would be a solid pick imo...not that much better than patterson if at all
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

if it goes like that then i have no problem taking bubkley but i wouldnt have a problem trading down either...and i certainly dont 'fear' another team taking him

There is no way in hell Baltimore takes Greenway. Dude's stock has dropped like a brick, and he'll probably go late in the first at this point. He's not what you would call a "Raven-type" backer anyway. The only thing I can see that would swing Bunkley towards us at this point is if someone does a shocker and takes an O-Lineman between the Brick and our pick. Unfortunately, Bunkley will most likely be the BPA to B-More at 13. If that is the case, I hope they go with Justice and grab Watson or Wroten later down in the draft.
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.""  R.I.P George.

PhillyPhreak54

Well, I want Bunkley. The only other guys who I would take over him are  D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Mario Williams and Vernon Davis. Maybe Mike Huff and that is only if Dawkins isn't re-signed. But I hope he is because he still has game and will for another 3-4 years, IMO.

So if I think Baltimore has a hard on for Bunkley and I am the GM I look to trade up to 11 or 12.

PoopyfaceMcGee

See, now wouldn't it have been nice if the Eagles had actually addressed this need position with one of any number of available free agents, so you wouldn't feel this irrational man-love for Brodrick Bunkley?

SD_Eagle5

I can't wait till our 1st round pick is announced/traded and we are all in disbelief that we know nothing.

Irrational? Ha!

And even if they signed a FA DT I would still be pimping Bunkley.

We NEED pressure up the gut. It is a must have this season. Signing a veteran DT is still something I want them to do. Go get a guy to replace Hollis. AND draft Bunkley.

No way Cleveland takes Tye Hill either. They have almost zero need for any DB on day 1.

PhillyPhreak54

Cleveland could also go RB. They want another guy to share time with Droughns and don't think Suggs can stay healthy and William Green sucks.

Greenway might be a reach for them, I agree. All's I know is that Ozzie loves defense and they need some LB depth. So maybe they go Demeco Ryans there.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Some mocks are starting to pair the Browns with Kamerion Wimbley of FSU.  He's drawing the most comparisons to Demarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman, and the Browns could use a guy like that off the edge.

Displaced

Man this is top notch stuff you guys have posted in these last 15-20 posts.

I agree with Phreak and FF in that they have to get preasure up the gut and they should have addressed it by now in Free agency.

I like Gabe Watson for his measurables and his ability to dominate.  However, everything I have heard about him is that he just isn't always interested in being a football player.  He looses focus and tends to slack off.

Bunkley I don't know that much about except to say that in watching the combine coverage my first impression of himn is that he looks like the JJ/Lovie Smith prototype.
