That article instigated a circle jerk of ginormous proportions.  Cute.

The only problem is that the taterskins only paid top dollar for free agents.  They didn't actually get any top players.  Carter has some upside, but is really no better than a poor man's Jevon Kearse.  And we know how Kearse has been doing.  Archuleta stinks and I'm glad he'll be in their defensive backfield.  Lloyd?  Ha!  Makes the great plays, but sleeps on the routine ones.  And Randle El?  How about this...

Considering that Randle El is unquestionably their top FA acquisition this year and they spent a lot of money to get him, the numbers Jabar farging Gaffney put up on a God-awful Texans team are pretty damn similar.  Who's the better wide receiver?  Might it just be that Antwaan Randle-El is a tad overhyped due to the occasional trick play, but he's really not an exceptional pass catcher?  Shocking.

Well, the one Eagle fan over there who goes toe to toe with Art (WB36) pointed that out, FF. And he was told he was nuts for comparing Gaffney to ARE because ARE runs the ball and throws the ball and returns the ball. The rushing, throwing and returning explains perfectly why he secured an $11.5M SB and a $31M contract.

am i the only one here who doesn't give a crap about the taterskins or their message board?

The quotes are good for the occasional chuckle here, but not much beyond that.

They're amusing, almost cartoon-like in their arrogance and make for a fun read.

Your subtle forms of antagonism would go over well there, you should log in. You need to seek the one called "TR1", he's a smarmy bitch.

IGY: It was easier for them to upgrade because their depth at the position was so God awful.

Santana Moss is obviously an excellent player, but they had NO ONE behind him.

Say what you want about Pinkston being skinny or not going down the middle, but the Eagles missed his ability to stretch the field last year.  Gaffney (who might be about on Pinkston's overall level, but is a wholly different style of player) is a solid addition and is an obvious improvement over Lewis and McMullen.

The taterskins upgraded their depth, and the Eagles upgraded their depth.  No top-end talent was added.

please don't start quoting tr1 over here.  Please.

Reading of Art here is bad enough, but at least he's kind of earned it from years of posting garbage.....  tr1 deserves no mention on any other board other than ES.

You have to have a legit #1 before you can talk about depth

Who was the Seahawks #1 last year? I'd say their passing game was more than efficient with a bunch of #2 and #3 receivers.

ice grillin you

the seahawks run the ball and have the best rb in the nfl...if the eagles did that i wouldnt have a problem with their wr's...but they dont they are a pass all the time team who doesnt have any wr's

We also have a better QB.

McNabb/Westbrook > Alexander/Hassleback

The fact that they run the ball efficiently helps their passing attack but also shows that you don't necessarily need a legit #1 to talk about depth.

That is DEFINITELY up for debate.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

And I definetly agree, but I think it supports my arguement that you don't need a true #1 to say you have 'depth'.
