they didn't have that story on their page, someone found it.  so it wasn't like the Browns official site was announcing it before 12:01, somebody was just creative enough to find it,

Less talk from you, more pics of Alba's ass. Preferably pictures of large animals ravaging her junk. Get to work, or I take my business to the other thread.

I'm not riled up. Not even a bit. The Birds never had a story run on their official webpage that Bentley or anyone else was locked up, barely a mention of it :-D. What I was trying to point out was how blatant it was that they had the story on their page before the period began

As Mo said, it was never meant for public view & may not even be indicative of the truth. If tomorrow comes & we do find that he officially signed with the Browns, there's an issue. But say, Givens signs with the Skins tomorrow, some webmaster in Ohio is going to be busy at his new job creating hentai fan sites.

SunMo

well, KFFL is saying that they signed him, so i think he's really going there.  somebody just found their story they had written.

Unless someone hacked into the site and put that story there, it's true.

I don't think it's bogus. That is how it works. The process of putting something on a website, is you write the story, store it on the server, and then put a direct link to it on a page. They did all but the last step. Most likely to avoid tampering charges, and let things cool over and have it officially signed.

Meh, farging cheap ass FO wouldn't pay him what he wanted even if they knew he would fix the SAM spot and make a big time impact. It's almost like they think is a horrible idea to have a playmaker at any of the LB spots. That being said, I hope they sign someone anyway....but I'm not holding out much hope. Further, I didn't want to imply that I think Arrington could fix the teams SAM problems or be a huge playmaker. Finally, I'm farging shteinfaced.

The one thing that always has annoyed me about the Eagles, is there is always someone who isn't their type of player.

Get Arrington! Sorry, not our type of player.
Get Abraham! Sorry, not our type of player.

Bullseye. At least it looks that way according to this piece.

The first weird free-agency report of the night came from Cleveland, when the team's Web site reportedly signed Patriots wide receiver David Givens and Ravens punter Dave Zastudil. The only problem was it wasn't true. Givens' agent, Brad Blank, has his client on a 7 a.m. flight to Miami to visit the Dolphins, and he almost didn't send Givens to Cleveland because of the erroneous report. Blank theorized that someone hacked into the Browns' computer, but he emphasized that no deal is done. Givens is scheduled to visit the Browns on Sunday if he doesn't sign with the Dolphins on Saturday.

A strange thing to hack the site with. Usually when someone hacks a site and puts a story there, it's a story with bad news, not good news.

Like Michael Vick broke his leg or something.

I was probably just a draft in the event he did sign, a draft that just wasn't hid well enough.

Clayton took the story down.  :-D What's going on?

I have a feeling it's true. I still don't see why a hacker would put that there. It's so bland.

According to Les Bowen, the Eagles are now targeting Jurevicius to come in and play the slot. They're also looking at Ryan Pickett at DT.

The Eagles are expected to announce one of the league's bigger deals today, with the addition of All-Pro center LeCharles Bentley, from the New Orleans Saints. Sources close to the situation also have identified Lions free-agent quarterback Jeff Garcia, who has a long history in the West Coast offense, as an Eagles target. The Birds also are thought to be interested in St. Louis free-agent defensive tackle Ryan Pickett, a 2001 first-round pick whose 115 tackles led NFL DTs last season.

But in the type of situation Banner might have been referring to, Pittsburgh free-agent wide receiver Antwaan Randle El now does not seem to be high on the Eagles' list. Under the $94.5 million cap, it is thought the Eagles thought they could obtain Randle El as a slot receiver at a reasonable price. Now, the market for Randle El is expected to be much greater and his price higher. Though agent Fletcher Smith would not comment yesterday, it now seems unlikely Randle El will join Smith's most prominent client, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. New England wide receiver David Givens, another rumored Eagles target, does not seem to be on their radar right now.

Instead, the Eagles are thought to be targeting veteran slot receiver Joe Jurevicius, who revived his career last season in Seattle. Jurevicius, 31, has the size the Birds' receiving corps lacks, at 6-5, 230. His 71-yard catch 3 years ago for Tampa in the NFC Championship Game set the tone for the Bucs' upset of the Eagles. Jurevicius is said to prefer to return to Seattle, but the Eagles might be able to dangle enough money to change his mind.

I'd rather have Bernard dammit.  :'(
