I can't bring myself to root for no deal, because I think it's bad for the sport overall.


But if there is no deal, it will be really funny to see all the teams who never valued restraint due to the salary cap, like the taterskins, purging really good players and making their idiot fans believe they can coach up any old scrubs to win it all.  It will be high comedy.

I agree.  Watching the Skins and their fans squirm will be my little "silver lining" if the CBA doesn't get done.

Brunell refusing to renegotiate is only the beginning. They are going to ask Jon Jansen, Randy Thomas, Portis, Moss, everyone who has a big cap number to renegotiate, and most likely, none will do so. Most of these guys have already had to renegotiate one or two times. In some cases, more than that.

Can't Synder ask the players we cut to onyl sign 1 year deals, and come back during the uncapped year. Is that legal?

Yes cash creates cap works IF the CBA keeps getting extended indefinately...but there should have been warning signs we picked up upon way before this.

We're well prepared for the situation should there not be an extension. We know exactly what has to be done and how to get it done should that be the case. And, with the tremendous number of players you'll see on the market, you'll find Washington an appealing place for cheap, talented vets who will be banking on bigger deals next year should it come to that.

The biggest problem we have is we haven't been able to engage in the plan of action should there not be a CBA since until now it has been expected there would be. If we had a week or two you'd find even without a CBA extension there'd be no real difference on the roster from last year in terms of starting players. With a shorter period to work you'll have to do more quickly in cuts than you'd like to do, but, Snyder has cash and can nicely do some things with it that will work well for us in whichever reality we are faced with.

We're "over" the cap solely because there haven't been any rules under which to operate to make any moves to do anything. When their are, you'll see fast movement. The only reason we're over any projected cap now -- the first time in the history of the cap since the first year we've projected over the cap at any point -- is because we haven't known how to rework deals which we rework every year. We don't yet know which structuring we get to do.

Part of having cash means using it every year to avoid a major hit. Once we know the rules of the game, we'll start playing and we'll do so with a roster that has only two starters free

Yes. They can still reach an agreement later on down the road and not have it affect the sport. But no deal now would mean that I will have a great time watching the ES'ers piss and moan like a buncha bitches.

as each year passes i get closer to the point where id rather the taterskins lose than the eagles win

12:01am on Friday morning all teams must be in compliance with the salary cap.

So Thursday will be the day that rosters get chopped and ExtremeSkins meltsdown.

The uncapped year is pretty much the wild card. I am not sure if they can go out and outbid everyone for FAs, and all of the other ramifications. One thing I do know, is that if their team is so devastated this year due to the massive cuts, there is no way there will be enough decent FAs out their next year for the taterskins to sign to bring them back up to the level of the competition the rest of the division is going to field.

I think I may vomit from happiness at the propsect of the taterskins being almost completely disassembled.
