According to a league source with knowledge of the situation, the Eagles have a close eye on what the New York Jets will do with C Kevin Mawae who has turned down a pay cut. Mawae has a cap value of over $4 million which the team wants to reduce. If Mawae is cut loose, look for the Eagles to make a run at signing him.

i have wood.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Mawae would definately go against their typical MO.

Mad-Lad

would they be looking at Mawae as a stop-gap till a younger player can take over full time?  I'm just curious cause he's older than Runyan.  Was he injured last year also?

MURP

eh, im on the fence with Mawae.  Guy is coming off a torn triceps injury and is past his prime at 35 going into the season.  He def isnt a long term solution.   I suppose if they are going balls out to try and win the SB this year then lets do this thing... spend it all and gather the other positions necessary too.   :paranoid

Mawae is a beast and I guess the writing is on the wall as far as Honeybuns' career with the Eagles is concerned. Peace out, Hank.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

(In regards to Mawae) Just heard on the NFL channel (Sirius) that the Jets still have $12million they have to cut.

I agree completely.  The prospect of adding him to the team is not overly exciting.

Mawae would be a nice addition. But he is old (37?) and injury prone. At least we'll still have Jamaal as the backup in case he gets hurt if they signed him.

I would rather spend the money on Runyan and keep him. Or go after Hutch or Bentley

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I wouldn't hate getting Mawae, Dandy Don. But I'm saying if you get him you better be ready for the IR stint that comes along with him.

It's Mawae or the highway.

Wow. I'm nominating a second post for worst of the year and we're only two months in. Impressive.
