Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins OT Damion McIntosh, who was arrested Wednesday morning, Feb. 15, after admitting he pushed his wife to the ground at the couple's Davie home, was granted a pretrial release without any bond but he must follow several court-mandated rules. While the judge noted that McIntosh would not be treated differently because he is a football player, he released the lineman based on his lack of any prior trouble and his good-standing relations with the community. Upon his release, McIntosh cannot have any contact with his wife, Precious::) while staying at least 500 feet from her, the judge said. Also as part of his release, McIntosh can not visit any shooting ranges and will have his concealed weapons permit immediately suspended. He also cannot drink any alcohol during the period, and he cannot leave the country for any reason.

The dude's wife's name is Precious.  How could you NOT hit someone named Precious??  Who the farg names their kid that?  Jesus farging Christ!

Some girl I used to go out with wanted me to call her Precious because she is a huge Lord Of The Rings fan. I stopped dating her soon after she made the request. You're right - I should of taken her to Fist City.

Follow up to last year's arrest of Ahman Green for teaching his wife when to speak, and when not to speak:

QuotePackers | Police and courts: A. Green
Tue, 21 Feb 2006 14:01:39 -0800

Mike Hoeft, of the Green Bay Press Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green has rejected a deal with prosecutors and will go to trial next month to fight a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Green did not appear in Brown County Circuit Court Tuesday, Feb. 21. That deal stated that if Green stayed out of trouble for one year, completed violence counseling and performed 100 hours of community service, prosecutors would dismiss a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge pending since May 10. Green withdrew from the agreement late last year, Main said. A one-day trial is set for March 22. The continuance agreement, which would have held the case open for a year, had been crafted to avoid potential sanctions from the NFL.

Broncos' Williams pleads guilty to reduced charges
Associated Press

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired and was sentenced to a year of probation and 24 hours of community service.

Williams, Denver's top draft pick in 2004 out of Miami, entered his plea to the reduced charge on Wednesday, the Rocky Mountain News reported on its Web site Thursday. He had been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and weaving.

Reached by phone late Thursday, district attorney spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said she was away from her office and could not release any information.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Williams on Sept. 23 as he returned home from a birthday party.

Williams said in October that he was embarrassed, and he should have asked someone else to drive him home.

As part of the plea agreement, the 23-year-old Williams must also pay court costs and fines, and attend a victim impact panel.

Broncos spokesman Paul Kirk said the team had no comment.

Williams played in all 16 games last season, starting 14 and recording 44 solo tackles. He also had seven tackles in Denver's 27-13 playoff win over the New England Patriots.

Hall of Fame DE Carl Eller arrested for DUI
[/size]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- Hall of Famer Carl Eller was arrested for driving under the influence early Sunday morning, according to the state patrol.

A trooper stopped the former Minnesota Vikings' star in suburban Golden Valley after clocking Eller going 97 mph in a 55 mph zone on westbound Interstate 394 around 3:30 a.m., said Lt. Chuck Walerius with State Patrol's West Metro office.

The trooper also saw Eller making a lane change and taking an exit ramp without signaling, Walerius said.

Field sobriety tests indicated that the 64-year-old Eller was driving while impaired, so he was taken to Minneapolis police's chemical testing facility, Walerius said.

Eller refused blood alcohol tests there and was held in the Hennepin County jail until he was bailed out in the afternoon. He was charged with fourth-degree driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, Walerius said.

KSTP-TV, which first reported the arrest, said the bail was $500.

Eller was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the summer of 2004. He retired in 1979 after 16 NFL seasons. He was a five-time All-Pro who played in six Pro Bowls and four Super Bowls.

Eller was an admitted former substance abuser who became a drug counselor in Minneapolis. Walerius said Eller's driving record appeared to be clean. The case was turned over to Golden Valley city attorney's office for prosecution, he said.

A message left by The Associated Press on Eller's cell phone Sunday night was not immediately returned.

QuotePaxson charged with sexual assault
Daily Staff and Wire Reports

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Former Penn State defensive lineman Scott Paxson was arrested yesterday and charged with sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault, university police said.

The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred in his apartment on Dec. 15, 2004. Paxson was arrested at his apartment, university police said.

No further details about the incident were immediately available.

Paxson, from Roman Catholic High School, was a first-team defensive lineman on the Daily News All-City team in 2000.
A senior, Paxson finished his last year of eligibility this past season as Penn State finished 11-1 and defeated Florida State in the Orange Bowl.

He was released on $150,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for next week. He did not immediately return a phone message to the Associated Press seeking comment.

Paxson sat out spring drills in 2005 while the university's judicial affairs department looked into the allegations.
Athletic department spokesman Jeff Nelson said yesterday that the charges are similar to the ones brought last spring and that Paxson was cleared by judicial affairs.

Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira said that the delay in charges being filed was due in part to assistant prosecutors in the office waiting to consult with Madeira, who took office in January.

Madeira was elected in November. He replaced Ray Gricar, who disappeared last April. In the time since, first assistant prosecutor Mark Smith was the acting district attorney.

In September 2003, Paxson pleaded guilty to summary charges of criminal mischief and riding a bicycle without a headlight. Prosecutors agreed to drop charges of receiving stolen property as part of a plea agreement.

Last April, criminal mischief charges were dropped against Paxson after an incident that allegedly also involved three teammates earlier in the year in which arrows were shot through a dormitory wall.

Taylor Trial Postponed
By Jason La Canfora
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, March 3, 2006; 12:30 PM

Washington taterskins safety Sean Taylor's trial on felony assault charges was postponed until April 10, after a hearing this morning in Miami. The case, which has been continued several times since Taylor's arrest in June, had been scheduled for March 20.

Taylor, who faces three counts of felony assault with a firearm, recently hired two attorneys to join his legal team, and that trio met with prosecutor Mike Grieco to discuss the case. At that time Taylor's lawyers requested a continuance based on their newness to the case, which was granted, according to Richard Sharpstein, who is representing Taylor along with Edward Carhart and Larry Handfield. Sharpstein said there is a strong possibility the legal team could meet with Grieco next week to discuss possible deals that would preclude the need for a trial, but is prepared for court as well.

"We look forward to trial and we look forward to proving Sean's innocence and getting him back on the football field where he belongs," Sharpstein said.

Taylor, a key starter who was drafted fifth overall in 2004, skipped the taterskins' offseason workout program last spring to remain in South Florida, where the arrest occurred. He has indicated to Coach Joe Gibbs that he will participate in the program this season. Players are expected to report to taterskins Park around the end of March, so a trial could conceivably keep Taylor away for a few days, but the bulk of the on-field work occurs later in the program.

Grieco, who increased the number of felony counts from one to three in January, has objected to the last several continuances in this case -- it was originally scheduled for September, then October, then January and March -- but has said repeatedly that he is prepared for trial whenever it begins.

What a farging joke. Newness? Like any average Joe (no farging pun intended) could get his case (where he/she is charged with threating/beating people with a pistol no less) postponed several times for anything similar to "Uh....my lawyer is new to the case." Hope the lock his ass up for a long time.
