actually, it was the players who pushed for the olympic break and the opportunity to play if i remember right. which is why no team had the right to deny any player going to the olympics.

Hey why don't you start a thread about how badly you feel for athletes and the hardships they're subjected to, dude. That would rule.

My last thought on IGY's little comment is that I was educated about the US Hockey team. No one expected them to medal. They weren't one of the best teams by long way, but mustering a farging tie against Arturs Irbe and the Latvian team is a disgrace. Spin it in favor of the players however you want, but try to find one reason to root for the american athletes OTHER THAN the fact that they are american. Convince me of just one reason that american athletes are worth rooting for and I'll shut up about their dumb rich pampered asses. But until someone can convince me that our diefication of these idiots hasn't made them nearly unwatchable, I'm going to keep bitching about them and the stupid money that gets thrown at them.

the colbert report did a pretty funny segment on the olympics. then he interviewed a buddhist. it was humor. kind of like our olympic performance.
