No offense, Feva, but Davis's selfishness in refusing to do the Pursuit event is unacceptable.  His participation would have all-but guaranteed the U.S. another medal.  He's a selfish piece of shtein, no matter what race he is.

His own teammates hate him, and his interviews with NBC were irritating...

btw...USA is tied with Sweeden going into the third period.  Forsberg has been dressed on the bench the whole game, except for his helmet and gloves and hasn't played

Saw much of the third period. Of what I saw was that the US had a problem getting close to the goaly most of the time.

Found out the Dutch have their second gold, surprisingly by Marianne Timmer.

As far as the notion goes that with Davis the US would have won a medal in the team-race is bull. Because based on personal accomplishments, the Italians should have never won gold at all. At least the Dutch and Americans should have come out on top.

Yeah, Davis is indeed a loner. But in a way so is Hedrick.
You have New York, we have Amsterdam
Just 15,000 Dutch beat out 90,000 Americans

With Timmy, one of three things is going to happen. Somebody is going to get hurt - it's either going to be him, an opponent, or one of our players.

None taken...

I dunno.. I can definitely see where he can be called selfish, but damn... who ever dreams about going to the Olympics to win a team medal?  I ran track in HS and college (which makes me waaay qualified to speak on this, btw) and as much as you have team relays and all that, it's very much an individual sport.  This guy's been training his whole life working toward an individual goal so I can't knock the guy for making that a priority during the Olympics.

Shani Davis wins the Gold in the 1000m Speed Skating. 1st African American to win a Gold Medal in the winter olympics.

To be precise, the first to win gold in an individual category.  Dick or not, that's a welcome milestone.

The only thing worth hoping for is for the Canadians to lose. And I think after all the hoopla over Forsberg playing, him coming down with some season ending injury would be pretty funny.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

SunMo

the US hockey team is brutal to watch.  no finishers, but a bunch of big, slow guys who can hit.
