This needs a little work.
It looks like Han Solo if you stare at it long enough.

That comment just earned you a little bit of respect.

PoopyfaceMcGee

This just in... the taterskins are rumored to have struck a deal with arrogant prick and fictional interstellar pilot and tough guy, Han Solo, to be their starting QB for the 2006 season.

SunMo

did you know....

Christopher Walken was very close to playing Han Solo?
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Yeah. Ever see that SNL skit?

Harrison Ford played in American Graffiti and was a carpenter at the time. George asked him to stand in and do a couple of lines, after that the part was his.

i never saw the SNL skit, and I knew of the Harrison Ford/carpenter thing, but i didn't know that it would've been Walken.  i'm not sure that would've worked too well.

I think they both were as well as somebody else that's mildly famous.

MadMarchHare

Kurt Russell might have worked as Han.

However, Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones.....there wouldn't have been a sequel.
Anyone but Reid.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Christopher Walken routinely points and laughs at the taterskins.

Oh, and he played a part in killing Natalie Wood, too.

QuoteQ. Is it true Burt Reynolds was original up for the role of Vader and Christopher Walken for Han Solo?

A. Ah, sort of. Actually, Burt Reynolds, Kurt Russell, Nick Nolte, Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, Billy Dee Williams, Glynn Turman. and Perry King were all "up" for the role of Han Solo at various points. George Lucas was familiar with Harrison Ford's work from their time together in American Graffiti (1973), in which Ford played a hod-rodder in a cowboy hat.
Ford tried out for other parts on the film, and when Lucas saw those reels, he realized Solo was right under his nose.

Perry King did the voice of Solo in the NPR radio play of Star Wars.

None of these actors, however, was up for Vader. Nor was Barbara Streisand up for Princess Leia. These rumors are probably due to a Saturday Night Live sketch that played on various actors trying out for Star Wars parts (including Richard Dryfuss as C-2PO and Jack Lemon as Chewbacca.

FYI, Terri Lynn, Teri Nunn, and Cindy Williams did try out for Leia.

Didn't realize the list was that extensive.

PhillyPhreak54

They should've hired Nick Nolte.

Imagine a cracked up drunk Hans Solo? That might've caused me to watch those movies.

Speaking of which, I knew a guy in Chapel Hill who could do a spot on Sean Connery impersonation.  He used to do the Darth Vader speech from the end of Empire in Connery's voice.  Bust up the room every time.
Anyone but Reid.

rjs246

If my math is correct (before supplemental draft picks for losing free agents are announced), the Eagles will have seven picks in this year's draft before the taterskins make their third pick. Laughing.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
